Mine was in the shop Friday getting leaking rear shocks replaced. It goes back in on Monday for the service start/stop. I've got 1600 on the odometer and had it about 6 weeks. It's under warranty so I really don't get pissed off. I bought from my local dealer, and as long as they take care of me and fix the issues I'm happy. Now my other vehicle is a 17 JKU with 33k miles and never a problem. Sometimes shit just breaks. :like:

It's true that the infotainment system can be reset BUT it shouldn't need to be. It may well be the same for other FCA products but that's hardly a justification, more a very good reason why it should have been fixed.

Cracked windscreen - same geometry on LR Defender and Merc G Class but they don't have the same windscreen issues.
How do you know they don't have problems? Go on to any forum and you will see people complaining how crappy there vehicle is. These forums attract people with problems. And has been stated by others many issues have been overstated. Shimmy is suddenly DW. The Uconnect is recognized by most reviewers as one of the best in the auto industry. All software has some bugs. Have you heard of Microsoft? The decades they have been around and the prices they charge there should be no problems, right? LR and G Wagen owners have their servants take care of their vehicle issues and don't get on forums to complain about it.
The vehicle with the best 5 year retained value can't be that bad or no one would buy it.

Mine has none of the issues you mentioned. Itā€™s great I love it. Alignment was a bit off from factory - fixed, and the cente console lever broke - fixed. Mercedes G class has windshield crack issues and death wobble issues too because they have a flat front windshield and floating live front axle. Every vehicle with those features will have those problems. Look it up.

So, at the risk of upsetting...well pretty much everyone...who else will admit to being a Jeep apologist?

To explain, I do love my JL, I love how it handles the snow, I love how it looks, I like the utilitarian vibe, I tell people how good it is...but in my heart I also know that it really should be better. Sure there are compromises which are to be expected - it's not going to ride or steer as well as other cars because it has a ladder chassis and live axles, it's going to be noisier if it has a removable top etc...these are all fair compromises for a car which is so capable off road and that you can take the doors and roof off etc. Fuel consumption is going to be bad if it has the shape of a brick - fair enough.

But what really frustrates me are the things which really should be better. The software in the entertainment/navigation system is a joke, these things shouldn't crash and have bugs like this. The death wobble has no place on a modern car (don't tell me it's inevitable because it has live solid axles, the Mercedes G glass has these and no death wobble). Cracking windscreens, leaky roof panels, poor chassis welding etc...it's just plain wrong. It just gives off the feeling that the engineers, production and designers took the view that just about good enough was all they needed to do rather than actually put the effort, care, engineering and work in to make it a really good car, the car it should be.

So I'll hold my hand up - I'm a Jeep apologist, I say it's great but in my heart I know that really it should be better than it is.
2018 jl rubicon no issues like that

2018 JLR, I don't have any of the issues that you speak of. I have heard of them on this forum. Mine was delivered to me on June 18th and I just went over 26000 miles. I was recalled for the track bar issue but it was determined that mine wasn't one of the bad ones. Yes the dripping water when you open the door is a pain in the ass but it's a Jeep and I don't want it to rain anyway..[GALLERY=][/GALLERY]

Apparently we can add electrical bugs to the list.... I had my Jeep one week, and it has so many problems, they donā€™t even know how to fix it. The first date in the shop was December 19th. I give it a little while longer, and then Iā€™m probably done with waiting.

My JL is quite an improvement over my 2012 JK!

Infotainment software bugs? Nope
Death wobble: None
Cracking "windscreens"? Huh?
Leaky roof panels? Not on my JL
Poor chassis welds? Nada...

You're experiencing all of these issues with yours, or just spouting off issues that others have had? If so, sounds like you have yourself a lemon.
On my JLUR:
No software bugs.
The beginnings of a death wobble at 7,000 miles
Got a crack already
No leaks
No apparent poor welds

True death wobble twice. At 8,000 and 10,000 miles. Scary as hell. Both times fixed immediately. First new stabilizer, second time steering box. Driving better now than it ever has. Hopefully that's the end of it. May build date.

Looks like you have a paint issue. Nice blue up front but looks like they did a terrible job from there back.
26000 miles in 8 months? Do you ever get out besides putting in gas?
