I am signed up for the Moab trip in November. Has anyone attended this location previously? Anyone attending this year? I may be completely missing the details but wondering what trail will be used? Also open to any feedback about last years event and what to expect. appreciate the comments.

I've never heard of it. What is it? Depending on the trail I may be interested.

These are run by Jeep Jamboree USA now- lots of very experienced guides and well known trails. They are a dip- your-toe-in-the-water kind of experience to get a feel for your Jeep and what you can do with it offroad- you'll be well taken care of and learn just enough to make you want more.
I'm not sure which trails they'll use, but be reassured that you're in for a safe and fun time.

$500 seems a bit steep.

Take a friend and run any of these trails rated 1-4. Or join a local club.

With all the GPX files/apps, and info out there today, I really don’t see the need for guided tours, especially for popular places like Moab and most likely the most popular beginner/intermediate trails you’ll run at this event.

Check it out, got friends who have gone and LOVED it, had a great time and learned a lot.

The biggest problem facing Jeepers is their ability to drive the Jeep at the level the Jeep can be driven, the goes in Spakes if you own a Rubicon.

I have led runs all over the US and I can tell you that few folks can drive at the level of the trails they challenge...which is WHY I am the only spotter and the one who winches or straps you out. If you cannot drive it you cannot spot either.

OP, especially if this is your first time in Moab, you'll have a blast. Jeeps can do amazing things on the slickrock, and you'll be surprised by the extreme stuff the pros will be able to spot you through.

As Don mentions, it'll be a great learning opportunity. I'm not sure how much you'll be able to, but observing the spotters directing other Jeeps will teach you a lot. If you're going with your significant other, I'd recommend switching off driving and getting out of the Jeep observing and asking questions (not mid-obstacle, of course).

. . . realizing each day–
Took my daughter to Jeep Academy in Texas this spring near Enchanted Rock. She drove, I took a photo or two. We both learned something, enjoyed meeting others, and had too much fun wheeling. I would do it again, Moab would be fun–

@OldJeeper @GATORB8 Appreciate the comments. I have had my Willys for a little over a year. I travel for work and have not put many miles on it or done much off road. This was supposed to be my learning trip.

I did take a trip to Big Bend last month and had the opportunity to do Black Gap Road. It was a blast but was also my first real off road experience. Wanted to tray and see where this may take place to do some research prior since I've only driven through town one afternoon last year.
