Make half doors/soft uppers standard, as was done during the YJ era. Otherwise, offer them as a no-cost customer selection at the time of purchase. Don't price them stratospherically as a naked cash grab, as was done during the JL era.

Maintain a 3 pedal offering, incorporating the new GMET4 Evo engine, but FFS, get the clutch design and the gear ratios right this time. Ditch the clutch pedal assist spring, too.

Don't enlarge any of the vehicle's exterior dimensions, but trim as many millimeters from the width of the interior transmission tunnel as may be possible.

The HVAC shouldn't have any integration with the touchscreen head unit, full stop. The former should function and be controlled independently with knobs and buttons.

Analog-style gauges for engine parameters (oil pressure & temp, coolant temp, etc.). Otherwise, make all such data viewable on the head unit at one time. Don't require the driver to scroll between each reading, as they must currently do on some trims.
Please go work for Jeep. This is the most reasonable "upgrade" and I would absolutely buy a new model Jeep if they did this.

Unfortunately with the Stellantis Microsoft AI news, if they remain owners the Wrangler will only get worse. I won't be one of the naive people who will say it will be the death of the Wrangler as soccer moms love that shit, but I will be out on new one.

The vast majority of them never leave pavement. If they ignore the majority of their customer base (non-hardcore) then they won't be able to justify keeping it around for the more hardcore of us. The mall crawlers pay the bills.

I wonder how many that clamor for the good old days have been there and done that ? I drove my 63 as a DD for over 10 years….. with every major and most minor parts swapped or at least upgraded. From the drivetrain and mechanical parts to the frame, power steering, seats, added stereo on and on to make it both off and On road capable…. I have nostalgic memories, but also remember the horrible leaf spring lift ride, box heater that might keep the passenger’s feet warm and worthless defroster, zero amenities or comforts. …. It would make a fun toy today, but the reality is this old man couldn’t stand it as a DD.
This guy, well as far back as the TJ days. My first Wrangler was a TJ. I'm on Wrangler #8 now. They come and go. When I was in the market last summer for #8, I wanted a TJ but I wasn't willing to pay $15K for one in good condition. I bought one practically brand new for low $20s 22 years ago and wasn't about to spend that much on something that old. The TJ I had, an X, rode fine. I had no complaints in that regard.

Split the difference, I’ll keep the JL ride, handling, steering, capability, temperature control., etc. They can keep the nannies, high tech everywhere and return to no fault analog guages and buttons-knobs settings that stay as set and not default to their chosen settings, etc. win win 😊

I'm not sure why my comment was interpreted by some to mean mechanical improvements are not welcome, just the fluff. Stripped down to the basics doesn't need to mean a compromised ride. The TL era simplicity is what I'm referring to.
