  • J70 wish list
    • Mount exterior mirrors to the body, not the doors. Like the Bronco
    • Move widow switched to the doors. You already have power going to the doors for the mirrors
    • Cooled front seats or ventilated.
    • Knee padding on the drivers side tunnel
    • Surround cameras. Maybe an under camera or two
    • 5,000 lbs towing with 35’s
    • Factory retractable rock slide steps.

I'd actually like the surround cameras. They are very helpful in keeping me from squishing phone zombies and rugrats at the mall or hitting my beer fridge in the garage.

One (or 4) more lens(es) to worry about breaking on the trail.

Sounds like a skill issue

Back to the basics version but with the option to have off-roading upgrades like gearing, tire size, disconnects and lockers that are only found in higher trim levels.

Mirrors that are body mounted make sense whether one prefers them or not.

J70 is a concept that is very much EV based. Will it happen, who knows?

Maybe this is a wish list for the next gen Wrangler? The last thing a Wrangler needs is more complexity. It was never meant to be luxury, or near luxury.

That's fine and all but an extreme example. For the 0.0001% - 1 out of 10,000 owners who might actually find themselves engaging in such behavior, removing body mounted mirrors for a day is an option. For the production line, that's not happening enough in my opinion for door mounted mirrors.

Have you seen how far they stick out on the Bronco? Further than the fender. Moving them to the cowl requires extending them quite a bit from the vehicle to make them visible from the driver's seat. Rocks, trees, passing motorcycles, the edge of the garage, parking in tight spaces at the mall, etc. are all things to then worry about.

Right? And for how much people loving customizing their Jeep its wild to me people balk at having to buy mirrors when the doors are off.

I hear you. The Bronco mirror does stick out a bit further than a Wrangler, but I would image it folds in if needed on the trail. When I tried going doorless, I fought with three separate styles of mirrors and they were all crap. I ended up just putting the doors back out of frustration. But since our wish lists are not being solicited, you don't have to worry about future models not having door mounted mirrors.
