This is our anti theft device
A friend of mine had his Jeep stolen and it was a manual. I assume they just took it on a rollback as car thieves today, do not know how to drive a manual. That's a fact as I see it posted all over the intranets.

Here in San Francisco Bay Aria Ca. If you think that if you call the police and tell them someone just stole my jeep and I have an Apple air tag in it and That they are going to go and retrieve it
NOT GOING TO HAPPEN
Unfortunately I work in Oakland Ca. and have call the cops many many times in the last 35 years
They ether never show up or 4 hours later they show up and get out there pen and right up a report and that's last you here about it
Just 6 months ago I was confronted by a ass hole that for 45 minutes refused to get off my property. He was threatening to stab me yelling and screaming
There where 10 or so witnesses with phone out recording the hole thing
Cops should up an hour later by then he was gone
We new his name and he is a common site on College Ave Oakland
The cops said there is nothing they can do
In California you have to be stab / shot and killed before you get attention
So back to the Ravelco. Its in my jeep. They may brake the windows steal my shit put they wont steal my jeep

+1 on the Ravelco. We remove it everywhere except our own garage.

Rubicon hoods stolen from Charlotte, NC airport parking lot.

My dad was a service manager at a VW dealer back in the 70's. They had to keep all of the beetles and busses in a fenced in lot with guard dogs. This is was because it took about 10 minutes to remove a motor from one of those. Thus, they had to lock them up.

Who knew that people stole things back in the old days.

Starting a road trip this week for several weeks. I have the time to have an IGLA installed but is it worth it on the 392? Are these jeeps targeted like hellcats and TRX trucks? Is there another easy option?
I have been looking at Ravelco as a theft deterrent. It is a hardened system that includes a fob that you take with you when you leave the vehicle. It makes it almost impossible for a thief to start the vehicle. They claim that in 47 years of installation there have been no vehicle thefts that use their system.

As long as you stay away from Houston, Los Angeles, and Chicago, you should be fine.

We have a term for a criminal like that in Arizona: Dead.

My 2020 Willys manual was stolen from parallel street parking in front of my house. There were 2 thefts on my street that night. No idea why. But, the fact that the thief knew how to drive a manual was interesting to the cops.

It was never found, unfortunately. Not that I particularly wanted it back after it had been gone a few hours, but I would have gotten some satisfaction in hearing that the person was caught AFTER insurance paid out.

Best assumption by insurance agent was put on a container ship and sent to West Africa.

There was a great expose on how it works on NatGeo a few years ago —
