Hello all! I am looking for any recommendations to protect the exposed cats in the 392 from theft. I frequently take my Jeep to remote trail heads to ride my dirt bike, and it's a prime target for theft. I see RockHard4x4 has a full body skid plate that covers them, but I'm wondering if there are other options available that don't add the weight of a full skid.

While insurance is there for cases like this, I'd rather avoid the headache and proactively put protection in place.

MORE makes a 392 specific skid that covers the engine and crossover pipe. Can't tell by the pictures if it protects the cats or not. I'm not really a fan of the large solid plate skids for the 392 due to the amount of exhaust heat that is trapped between the skid and the floorboards.

The best protection for the 392's is probably the fact that the cats are difficult to cut out on the 99% of non-392 Wranglers. So we mostly only have to worry about the guys that are either really clueless or very well informed.

Building your own protection or parking over a log, rock, mudhole or poison ivy patch might be your best defense until the aftermarket comes along with a solution.
