Interior mount windshield light bar in Amber

Hi, not looking for off road use but to raise visibility on city streets /hwy.

I have been told if the lights are amber, they are legal.

Some states require a permit, GA is one example I know of

Interior mount has a high probability of reflection off the glass. There also is the "how to control/power" it without damaging something. Doesn't your rig have DRLs? Get Halos and patch them in.

There were some recent posts about pre-runner lights. They should do what you're looking for and, shockingly, some people think they look ok.

Amber fog lights work great for this. And amber DRL lights too. Since I started running around with the amber fogs on I see multiple instances where people start to pull out in front of me from a side street then think better of it. Turn them off and people jump out more often.

I have the same question as Jeffy56. Is there a reflection/glare off the inside of the windshield when these are on? How does being mounted on the inside of the windshield affect the light being emitted on the outside.

You will find that all almost all of these lights are rated for off-road use only. Unless they are specifically marketed and stamped as SAE compliant for fog or driving lamps.

I can only speak for PA law since that is where I am but it would not matter what color those lights would be above your windshield/top of your windshield They would be considered off-road lighting and you would get a citation for even having them there and not being covered let alone having them on.

If they were to be flashing in some way then that's another issue because only certain vehicles are allowed to have flashing amber lights.

There is nothing in that list that says a personally owned vehicle can have flashing amber lights.
You say San Jose, I'm assuming California.
