Interior Mounted Light Bars

I've seen a couple of Jeeps on the banner that appear to have interior mounted light bars behind the windshield. Does anybody have info on these installs? I have searched the forum, but can't seem to find anything.

Pretty sure that Jeep was a concept from mopar. Don’t think you can actually get those.

Looks like it was first seen in the EJS Luminator Concept in 2017, and put in the Nacho Concept in 2018. It's manufactured by Automotive Lighting as a concept, but could see production.

Would be cool if they did bring it into production. If they could seal it against the windshield well enough that you didn’t get glare, it would be a much better option that running a light bar at top of windshield. Not sure if it would be something I would do but it is a good concept.

I remember seeing a video at EJS where Jeep said it would be a Mopar accessory for the JL but it looks like it never made it out of the concept phase. I would definitely like a light bar like this as it wouldn't add any extra height or wind noise. Don't know why any 3rd party vendors haven't picked up on it yet.

What's stopping you (or anyone) from getting two say 7" wide LED light bars and mounting them like in the pic above ? I'm sure some kinda of "seal" could be fabricated pretty easily, if even needed....

*Edit: Just ordered two 7" wide x 1" tall LED light bars to do this exact mod. Will wire up to my high beams. Stay tuned..

Emergency vehicle lighting is something else to consider. I've looked at some applications that mounts behind the windshield, but not sure if it would be bright enough. Maybe some google searches will give you some more ideas.

@Quadratec has finally released an interior mounted light bar, but it's only compatible with non-adaptive cruise models with the manual dim tab on the rear view mirror. Anybody going to give it a try?

i Asked them about the other variations (adaptive cruise control + auto dimming) they said its being worked on and will be released soon.
