Interior Lighting Mod - Left Dimmer Knob

Hey everyone,

I have a 2018 JLU Sport S. Would anyone have any idea (or experience) as to whether aftermarket LED strips/lights can be wired into the stock ambient lighting control knob (left of the steering wheel). I'm assuming it can be done so long as there's enough power, but I wanted to see if anyone has experience doing so.

I don't understand why the left dial wasn't set up to turn on the dome light. Instead you have to turn the instrument panels to full bright before the dome will turn on which is less than ideal at night.
