I have a 2022 Wrangler JL Rubicon I bought used earlier this year. The window sticker and build sheet both show it as having AMBIENT LED INTERIOR LIGHTING . I don't see any Ambient lighting inside and was wondering how to turn it on if I do in fact have it. Those little wheels at the head light control area do nothing as far as ambient lighting so I don't know where else to look. I do have a white light in the bottom of the cup holders but that's it. Any suggestions? Thanks for any help anyone might have to offer, I appreciate it.

My friends '23 Gladiator Rubicon has foot well lights that I can't figure out how to turn off. Super annoying. I don't need my feet lit up while driving at night.

lol, I don't think any of us do. The only "Ambient" light I'm getting is in the bottom of the cup holder. Those little wheels where the headlight switch is, the one on the left if I'm reading this diagram corrrectly is supposed to control the ambient lighting but mine doesn't due anything. Has me wondering if I have to turn them on somewhere. The other interior lights are all working which leads me to believe fuse 20 is good which is the fuse for that circuit. Good luck with yours, if I find anything I'll post it here.

Was just thinking, that little wheel on the left has a click at the bottom did you try turning that all the way down until it clicks to see if the lights go off??

That's the dash light dimmer. Pretty sure that would turn everything off.

According to the owners manual the one on the right is the instrument panel dimmer and the one on the left is the ambient lighting dimmer.

Just an FYI, that interior ambient lighting is designed for the darkness of a remote trail or campsite, not suburbia. It's there but it's only bright enough to see in complete darkness. Almost any level of outside light pollution will make that ambient lighting unnoticable.

I didn't figure that out myself until I was deep in the desert and realized I could see things I shouldn't. When they say "ambient" they really mean it.

If that's the case, what you experienced,, then I'll probably never see them. Gonna go out to the garage later and get one my knees in the foot well and see if I see anything, even a flicker. I'm starting to wonder why I'm even researching this, boredom I guess. Thak you for responding, I appreciate it.

2023 JLUR XR. Single wheel on lower left panel controls all ambient lighting at once. I open the door upon entry, the lights in the front footwells under the dash come on. Close the door as I exit they turn off after a few seconds. My Midland GMRS head unit is mounted under the HVAC blower and is blocking the view of the courtesy light under the glove box in the second pic

My son's '20 JLUR has footwell lighting - my base '18 Sport does not, nor does my wife's '18 Sport S. There is also ambient lighting above the interior door handle - there's a tiny LED in there, that I believe is on all JLs; even my peasant Sport has them. It dims with the left dimmer wheel, and the right one is for dash lighting and turning on the overhead light.

I can see the lighting in my cupholders and footwells here in NJ, in the dark of course....

Exactly my experience with a 2018 Sport S and 2020 JLUR. I was surprised with the 2020 when the left wheel actually did something I could see (at my feet).
