Just wait... this is just the beginning of the shit storm we will have to endure while having electric powered vehicles forced on us before true research or infrastructure has been put in place.

How many of those ICE fires needed two full fire crews for 24 or more hours, a modified shipping container, 30,000lbs of sand and a bulldozer to encase the car in the conex then bury it sand? That's what the Phoenix fire Dept does for every Battery powered car in an accident above a low speed impact. Totalled, every one of them. Please share what the storm you’re describing will be?
There were about 175,000 vehicle fires in 2022 here in the USA.
50 of those were EVs. Fifty.
Jeep probably had that many clutches explode. That’s a shit storm.
I wasn't specifically speaking about Jeeps. I just feel as more and more EV's hit the road we will start seeing more issues... and in this particular case, it was a battery issue. It's just my OPINION... EV's are being politically pushed and the cart is being put before the horse. Please share what the storm you’re describing will be?

This .... and as more buy into the EV hype it will get worse. Don't forget about all the "earth" issues caused by mining and disposing of the batteries. How many of those ICE fires needed two full fire crews for 24 or more hours, a modified shipping container, 30,000lbs of sand and a bulldozer to encase the car in the conex then bury it sand? By the way, the 175,000 vehicle fires you mentioned where only accounting for highway fire's. Over 1/3 of EV fires occur while charging... so they are not being reported in your #'s.Please share what the storm you’re describing will be?

And over 2,000 fires occur refueling cars at gas stations annually.By the way, the 175,000 vehicle fires you mentioned where only accounting for highway fire's. Over 1/3 of EV fires occur while changing... so they are not being reported in your #'s.
I agee, currently there are less EV cars catching fire, but there are a lot less of them in operation. There are approximately 1.7 million currently in operation, compared to well over 250 million gas powered vehicles. So using these numbers, accounting for increased EV usage... like I said, we are just seeing the beginning. So far I do not see the benefits outweighing the issues.
Bud, not arguing or trying to measure appendages with you...And over 2,000 fires occur refueling cars at gas stations annually.

Doesn't seem like very safe tech.
14% of new cars sold in 2022 were the evil battery type. Where are the corresponding fires?
Sweden has an almost 60% take rate on BEVs. Why is it not a charred husk from all the battery fires?
"Thermal Runaway"Bud, not arguing or trying to measure appendages with you...
But lets compare apples to apples... do your Google search... and search for car fires caused by BATTERIES... ICE vs. EV's.
It's JUST MY OPINION, as more EV's are sold, using common sense, we WILL see more issues, that includes fires. It's also my OPINION, that the fire/incident numbers being reported are grossly edited in the favor of EV's due to the political push to sell them.
I'm not an EV natzi... Drive what you want. I feel the infrastructure is not adequate throughout America to support an EV society and it will be a very long time before we are. The current push to sell EV's far benefits China more than America and I'm just not down with that.
Amen brother.I think the more EVs hitting the road the more articles like below we will wind up seeing. There are so many things they dont tell you while they are pushing EVs. Ill keep my ICE until there is no way to gas her up.
