I considered posting this in the other similar topics, but there are some differences in my situation.

I bought a used 2022 JLU Willys sport with 52K miles on it in JUNE 2024.

I immediately added a Tazer mini to remove the auto start/stop and Disconnected the AUX battery after was left stranded with a dead battery after leaving the door open a couple of times (I work out of this Jeep) The AUX battery was ok, just hiding the fact that the main battery was weak. I pulled fuse f42 and removed the ground wire to the AUX battery and bought a new Main Battery.

The world was good.

I got in the Jeep the other night and the Instrument panel didn't show any signs of life, Dark including the speedo and tach. Only the small red security light blinks when I first get in.

Jeep starts and runs fine. I began troubleshooting.

ran through the usual checks with no success. One thread suggested removing both battery cables and connecting them together with a jumper and let is set for 5 minutes. Which I did. and to my surprise it worked...... for about 25 seconds. This is repeatable and it works every time. for the same 25 seconds. I don't even think I have to jump the leads together as I ran the battery dead charging stuff at deer camp this weekend and when I hooked up the jumper cables it worked again for the same 25 seconds.

I got a price on a new instrument panel and the same company will set the odometer up for me and was preparing to pull the rrigger when I came ascross a thread this morning that I hadn't previously read. This guy said he bit the bullet and took it to the dealer and he re flashed the computer and it fixed his.

Could this be a product of the Tazor or AUX battery delete?
What are the chances I have a bad instrument cluster?
Are they reflashing the computer or the Instrument cluster?
Is there a way to reflash this on my own?

Thanks in advance.

You can definitely run into bizarre shit if you neglect to run the Tazer through the specified sleep cycles. And I haven't heard of any issues being directly related to removing the Aux as long the basic steps listed in multiple threads are followed.

Side note: completely draining an AGM battery is insanely hard on it.

I wouldnt think the aux bypass would be effecting this. Tazer could be the problem. If you want to evaluate your cluster, you may reach out to United Radio to see if yours does have an issue. Way cheaper than anything at the dealer.

I am having this issue with my 2023 sport with about 37k miles.

Some of these clusters have been recalled so run your VIN! Unfortunately my VIN did not show up as being included in the recall so I am being charged by the dealership for repair.

Initially I was told it would be $1700 but now they have me for a little over $200 with a Goodfaith discount after complaining that this should be included in the recall.

Please report these issues to NHTSA because the current recall did not cover all the VINs with this issue.
