Cool lighting in instrument cluster??

In my Gladiator there is a gap in the speedo where the needle comes out and at night between 30ish and 45 or so there is a light beam the shines out from the left side of the pivot point. Once you see it you CANNOT un-see it!

I was driving tonight and noticed for the first time that randomly(???) a yellow light runs around in a circular pattern around the inside speedometer bazel(sp).

Pretty cool, wondered if anyone noticed? Or better yet had a reason for the occurrence.

Yes! I have that on my JLU and hate it so much.

Crazy thing is neither of our 2018 JL's have it.

I was looking at this on the way to work this morning and if you set the cluster dimmer in the brightest position the needle illumination creates that glow around the ridge in the speedo.

Never noticed that, but then my analog speedometer is usually off between 3-12mph from the digital, so I don't pay any attention to it.
