Hey all,

Just ordered the Dynatrac HD Prosteer Ball Joints and there Teraflex HD Tie Rod / Draglink set for my JL. Hoping it cures my Deathwobble.

The quote I received from my off-road shop was $931

I have some tools and somewhat mechanically inclined.

Not sure if I can do it myself. Any input is appreciated. Or anyone in the Reno Nv areas able to help with install? Thanks

Cheaper than a dealer. I got quoted for almost $1400 for ball joints alone from Criswell.

I charge $400 for ball joints and normally .5 hours for each link to be installed and greased, which is $40/each. (TB's, DL, or TR)

If you go rent the ball joint tool and need some help, I can walk you through the process. If it's your first time doing a job like this, plan to have a full Saturday open to do the work.

Man you don’t charge enough.

By the book it’s 6.3 hours plus whatever is charged for alignment.

900-1100 in today’s economy is fair.

If I was running my old shop with overhead and ancillary costs, my labor rate would be 1.5 times higher and I would be closer to book time x1.1 or 1.2 since I never charged for shop supplies.

Since I don't have any of that and I only charge $80 an hour, $400 is good for me. $400 privately = $800+ as an employer.

I plan on replacing mine with the Teraflex HD joints soon. Getting all my tools prepped. I've seen a couple videos. Some remove the 36mm hub bolt, & some don't bi don't think it's even on my teraflex instructions. Is this not a necessary step? Also, for the gear oil, is 3qts enough?

That's a decent price considering book time plus alignment.
