Idrive Throttle Controller

Pedal Commander, as well as this Throttle Controller, offering... that was dropped afterwards, has an Economy Mode.

Supposedly, if you use Eco Mode, you will increase your gas mileage. To be honest.... I believe it is possible, ECO Mode helps with increasing gas mileage.... but reality is, even if you, yourself are very watchful in how you drive in general, your gas mileage will not improve or only improve a tad using ECO Mode.

BUT ..... for those that rock crawl, etc., I do believe Eco Mode is a real plus. When in Eco Mode, it makes the throttle way less responsive and would be a real plus when navigating rocks/boulders. This is a real plus!
Also would be a big plus, in snow, sand and mud...

You can test out a Pedal Commander or the iDrive for 30 days and if you do not care for it, you can get a full refund.

Personally, I would go with the Pedal Commander. The iDrive pales in comparison to the Pedal Commander..... For starter's, the Pedal Commander can be adjusted via an app on your Smart Phone. SOoo, no little aftermarket Throttle Controller box, stuck to your center console, etc..

i would think if you're driving it's easier to press the button for the idrive vs use your phone/app to make changes.

In early April of 2019, I was given free, a few different brands of throttle controller's to test/try on my 2018, 3.6 Automatic tranny, 2dr. JL Rubi. I was asked to try and then promote, etc..

Anyway, I found that most all of the throttle controllers did the same thing. I got rid of them all except the Pedal Commander. I've run with the Pedal Commander since 4/2019 and over 45,000 mi.

You can change modes with button presses on both the Pedal Commander and the iDrive.
Pedal Commander has Bluetooth whereas idrive does not..

Should mention that Pedal Commander routinely updates their app.. So, keeps current lets say where other throttle controllers do not.

...YES, the Pedal Commander can be adjusted via an app on your Smart Phone. SOoo, no little cheapo looking aftermarket Throttle Controller box, stuck to your center console, etc. so it is in reach for mode changes.

What's important to remember with a throttle controller in regard to your JL ... is that if you changes modes while actively driving .... pressing the gas pedal ... or as you state "if you're driving it's easier to press the button for the idrive vs use your phone/app to make changes."

.....that you risk (highly likely) that you will have the JL throw a code and it go into limp mode... No this does not always happen but it is highly likely it will happen.

In closing.... were I actually have to pay for a TC, I would probably go with a HIKEit, and not an iDrive and not the pricier Pedal Commander. I rarely do mode changes so, I could just hide the TC controller versus leaving the eyesore out.

As mentioned, I found that most all of the throttle controllers did the same thing. AND, that "thing", I really really like, in regard to my JL. I truly am glad I run with a TC.

NO, the Pedal Commander has not been discontinued..
Northridge 4x4 just stopped selling the Pedal Commander brand.
