Testing tomorrow a 2nd one. The first one left me not so impressed (for the $$) when compared to to my torque filled 2.0 jlur. Whats the best way to test the 0-60?

I guess you will just have to tell everyone how slow and unimpressive they are compared to your 2.0, like the last thread you started, about your last 392 drive.

So a slightly used beautiful 392 @ a great price. I figure why not. Took my new JLUR 2.0 over to the dealer got an almost sticker trade in and took the 392 out for a spin. Not for me. First, took out my stop watch. Didnt meet the under 5 seconds from a stop just by pressing on the gas. 2nd,the theatrics we see online about getting thrown back into your seat is complete BS. Not the thrill they claim. 3rd, its VERY HEAVY with a deep brake and lots of play in steering. Would I buy it? Yes but not nearly what they are asking. The hemi even feels old compard to the 2.0. I leave with saying that the 2.0 technology is awesome (much more so than the 3.6) and Im really looking for to the inline 6 twin turbo

  1. Turn off AC
  2. Turn on off-road plus
  3. Roll up the windows, no point adding wind resistance to the brick-like aerodynamics
  4. Press brake firmly with left foot
  5. Press accelerator 33% for 2 seconds
  6. Release brake and stomp accelerator
  7. Wait 4.5 to 4.8 seconds and you'll be there...
At that point how do you feel? Lightheaded, head rush, stomach feel like you're on a roller coaster? What types of sounds are emitting from your mouth? Scream like a girl? Grunt like a warrior? Uncontrollable laughter?

If not you might be dead.

There are faster SUVs...Stelvio Quadrifoglio, Jaguar F-Pace SVR, I'm sure many more. If you want the fastest SUV go get one of those. But if you want a Jeep first, really the most capable off-road vehicle you can buy that's got a ton of power and is a blast to drive, the 392 is your answer.

Off Road +on , press and hold traction control for about 5 seconds to disable nannies. Floor brake, ~ half throttle a few seconds, STAND ON IT -Slide foot off brake. Not bad for a 5000+ pound brick!! Edit— Not fast enough? $160K Starting price will get you a G63 AMG (with street tires).

I wouldn’t bother if I were you. You obviously love your 2.0 so why waste your time. There really is 0 comparisons between the motors. As everything is better on the 392 by a large margin both intrinsically and by the numbers. The only thing the 2.0 is better at is gas mileage.

The 2.0T is surprisingly good for what it is. Let’s say the 392 isn’t for argument’s sake: that still doesn’t make the 2.0T better than the 392. All it says is the 2.0T offers better value for your money. Which I think almost everyone would agree with.

The 392 is still going to be faster, sound better, be more exclusive, feel heavier, cost more, suck more gas, etc.

I'm not sure that anyone who is that concerned with 0-60 times should be looking at a Jeep.
I have a 2021 392 powered Challenger Scat Pak Widebody. The Hemi is fun, thirsty, and makes great noises. But, the car is not as quick as the 10 year old Corvette Grand Sport it replaced. (Although it does have amazing brakes)
I understand the appeal of the Wrangler 392, (power, torque, sound, status) but like my Challenger, it's not the fastest, or the quickest.
It's a Jeep. It's not made for a dragstrip, it's designed to take you places other 450HP vehicles can't go. If you use it for what it was made for, it's extremely good.
It's not a stoplight racer.

What he said. I’m very happy with my 2.0 JL, BUT it has nowhere near the power a 392 JLU puts down. And the soundtrack-No comparison.

So Ill pulled the trigger on the 392. The first one I drove was clearly abused. This one has alll you people have been saying . Tight( tighter)steering, etc, etc. However I have buyers remorse in that its VERY GRAND. I love it! My conservative side says bring it back. But I think as a midlife crisis toy it fits the bill.

Congrats glad to hear you really enjoyed the 392. Don’t think you’ll regret it at all. What did you end up getting color and option wise?
