My 2019 sat for years in dealer show room floor during Corona. Sold as new in 2022 with 20 miles. Was traded in in 2024 with 80k. The owner had lived in Houston and traveled to DC area a lot. I am guessing Langley, VA is where they had work. Thinking I have a NASA Jeep. Ha! I've put on 40k trouble free miles in 1.5 years. Milage has nothing to do with reliability. It is care and maintenance that matters.
Sounds fantastic.

Depending on what your upper limit is to spend, I'd encourage you to check out a site such as Car Gurus as a search option. I plugged in Andover and went for a 200-mile radius from you. Set the options as 2-door, 2019-2024, price range of $19K-25K, 40K or less miles, and all of the 2-door models that showed up as available. I'd have to dig in deeper, but there are several on there that might meet your desire.

I personally would not touch a 2024 with 74K miles on it. Holy cow. It may be updated, but that's a lot of mileage in a short time. Your call. Depending on your budget, you may be able to swing one that will work for you. I've had good luck using Car Gurus as a relative baseline. Key in all cases is to get eyes-on, or have a great rep pro do it for you, and check the maintenance records as much as possible. You can also use this site to see what the original sticker was on whatever you are looking at as a relative measuring stick: Window Sticker Lookup by VIN

Wishing you the best of luck, and we look forward to you joining Team Jeep once you decide! 👍
Thank you very much. Great information!

450 ft lbs of torque and nearly 30mpg just to start. Heavy duty components instead of cast aluminum crap. Better transmission, the list goes on.
Interesting, I'll look into diesel.

The one with the 8 speed transmission.

Give us engine size info please. Can only go off color and mileage so far. Either way underbid/offer the sale price. And no add ones like nitrogen in tires or scotch guard etc.
3.6 L 6cyl.

2024 is a no brainer. Curtain airbags, Uconnect5 with larger screen standard, much improved steering box and sound proofing, best color of all three. 2024 is a JL Wrangler refresh year. If you can get 2024+ it is worth it.

I would agree with this statement if it is within your budget to do so. Everything Gato noted is a plus (Some may not agree regarding the screen update, but having both I can tell you that I do like it a lot. The 8.4" on our 2018 is still great, though.). They definitely made some adjustments in noise-dampening. I was surprised by that, actually, but it's noticeable. And yes, the steering, while not perfect, is way better than the early models like our 2018 that I had to go through a lot of upgrades to get where it feels super-solid.

Earl Gray is your best color in that bunch. If it had the 6 speed, you'd be even coooooler.

If you want to buy a used jeep, definitely listen to a cold start. If an engine is going to make any bad noises, it will usually be present during a cold start. A warmed up engine can conceal issues like piston slap or valvetrain wear like lifter tick. Don't tell them you're coming, don't give them that chance to warm the vehicle up, show up in person and ask them out of the blue to start it up for you when it's at ambient temp.

The 2020 2.0T JLU I owned had piston slap when the engine was cold. It disappeared completely after the engine reached 180F. It didn't effect reliability or performance, but damn that 2.0 was noisy when it was cold outside. I'd call it downright agricultural. It wouldn't stop me from owning one again, but If I could choose between 2 and one of them was quieter, you know which I'd select. That said, I really like the 2.0's power delivery and economy, and the 2.0's don't sound bad to me once they are at operating temp.

I would also be prepared to get your clothes dirty, lay on your back, and check out what's underneath. You want to look underneath for signs of leaking fluids, undercarriage damage, and check to see if the skid plates exhibit any signs of offroad use. When I sold my 2.0 it looked show room fresh, but if you looked underneath the factory skids could tell you some stories. I mean, I never abused it, but I did heavily use it. It's hard to say how a used vehicle has been used, and if one looks immaculate underneath it's definitely a factor worthy of consideration.

One other thing I'd consider is if they come with a mopar extended warranty. If you buy from a CDJR dealer you'll probably get a mopar cpo warranty. If you buy one that doesn't have a mopar extended warranty it can be purchased from a dealer. There is a dealer named Grainger Motors that sells them for relatively cheap compared to most dealers. https://www.buymoparwarranty.com/

I'm gonna go 2020 all the way. I don't like the idea of fm antenna embedded in the largest rock catcher on the road. But I bought a new Rubicon in 2022 and still wish I would have just got a TJ sport...so if creature comforts are important to you, I believe more were added each year, so the 2024 will likely have the most.

I am old enough to remember the bad old days when if you could squeeze out 100,000 miles from a vehicle without the wheels falling completely off, the Detroit gods were smiling upon you. I find it's hard to get out of that mindset and always assume that lower miles = better. So I probably would have picked the 2020.

Earl Gray is a terrific color, and one I considered in my search when I got our 2024. My lil' bro got Earl, and my other brother white, so I went Anvil based on what was the best deal at the time. I'm very happy with the Anvil, as it looks pretty awesome, especially when freshly washed.
