14 hour charge to go 20 miles?
Sorry, I don't get it.
Um, ok? I work from home. I can run errands around town whenever I need to and plug in after and Jeep is charged in the morning. If I needed faster charging I would have a level 2 charger installed. A 110 outlet can only supply so much electricity, ya know?

Same here. Work from home and 80% of driving is short trips. Hardly ever buy gas. TBH this was unexpected - that the 25-30 mile battery range would be so effective for my current lifestyle.

Having owned a Honda Clarity PHEV for 3.5 years, moving to a 4xe shouldn't be much of a change, other than I will be charging the 4xe a bit more often. Have a NEMA 14-50 240v outlet in the garage, allowing for 2.5 hour recharge times on the 4xe. Recently bought a Autel Maxicharger Home from Amazon for $447.

It's not uncommon for people to do a 20 mile or less round trip once a day, and then vehicle is parked for 14 hours+, like the 9 to 5 commuters, then they are others that can always keep plugging in after every short trip to top up, but the major bulk of the charging is overnight, it's a lot easier than it sounds.

I for one could get away with a 14 hour charge, or regular top up, I work from home, most of my driving is short joy riding, I also take the kids to and from schools, groceries, etc.

However I live in a condo, and the EV scam they have going, is to force people to pay $5,000 for a charger, plus the electricity cost. At $5,000 of course the management/board/the greens etc are getting a cut of that cash.

Luckily I was forced to seek out free charging nearby, so I'm not complaining, I'm not, and was never pro EV and all that jazz, but figured I can benefit to the tune of minimum $400+ a month with this EV scheme.

wow! $5k is ridiculous! I have heard of electricians in my area having a different price “higher” when they hear the outlet is for an ev. I’m going to install the outlet myself.

$5,000 is to install a charger in a condominium parking spot. Think a house charger is about $1,000 - $1,500.

You have to contact management they contact the installer etc, price also varies depending on the spot location.

This is also $5,000 Canadian dollars.

There is a YouTube video on how to get one done cheap.
