Thanks, cause I'm not thinking holding the high pressure self wash sprayer an inch from paint for minutes is doing any good.

Change fluid to anti freeze fluid, just pick a day and hold the button for 20 sec intervals, let it rest a minute, repeat 4 times, half fluid is gone, time for orange rain x deice fluid.

This moving wall of a vehicle kills all the small insects in its way. I been driving it full of dirt til I picked up a family member from the airport, did detailed cleaning beforehand. This week I have been trying to keep the windshield spotless but It won't last one commute.

I use one of these. I keep it in the back and use it constantly. Put a good cleaner in it and you can be clean anytime you want.

I'll put out there that the Mopar Performance wipers with the fluid nozzles on the wipers instead of on the engine hood do help a little - in that you really do get more cleaning from the same quantity of fluid...

I've found that the best way though is the spray foaming washing fluid (like you get from Safelite or like https://zep.com/products/foaming-gl...Zn1V9JBeBX2HekmTM5LzREfk9YQXwLkFy_qC55L2ZjP4Q) with of the "bug" sponges (https://www.amazon.com/Relentless-D...1_8?keywords=bug+sponge&qid=1695482746&sr=8-8) works best to keep it clean on the outside.

Since taking delivery of my JLU, I've reconciled myself to doing the following more frequently:

-Refilling the washer fluid reservoir;
-Using a squeegee and glass cleaner to remove at home what the wipers can't process whilst driving; and
-Replacing the wiper blades.

As distinct Pay to Play expenses, they could certainly be worse. No matter. It's worth it. ?
Just embrace it. It’s one of the benefits of owning a brick with wheels ?

Shine Supply: Clutch, Wet Detailer and finish with Punch It, nothing will stick and what does washes off easily. Also the make a bug remover that is fantastic even for the paint. Use it on the entire vehicle. Basically it is a 3 month ceramic coat depending on how much you wash. That combo also protects and preserves the external plastics. Makes powdercoat pop as well.

Thanks for the reminder! I think I'm going to order them since it's not a bad upgrade for about $100.

Ceramic coat, retreat with rain x every few months and I carry a spray bottle of ONR mixture and a microfiber towel to remove bugs at the end of the day if I'm doing highway trips. Easy Peasy ?

+1.

After some experimentation, my current Go To is Rain-X branded washer fluid (green for summer, orange for winter) and Latitude wipers. The end result is the bolded text in the quote. Specifically, if I sweep the windscreen with fluid immediately after a bug strike, the chances are good that it'll be wiped away completely, no matter the size of the splat.
James, you nailed EXACTLY what I use and how I use them! ?

When the bugs are bad in the summer, I just drive mine with the cover on. Keeps everything nice and clean. :)

Be careful about using anything but the normal blue stuff in your washer fluid reservoir. My Audi does not like the rain-x stuff. Messes with the reservoir sensors.

Yeah my Jeep windshield is certainly a bug collector but even with the healthy slant on the Audi it’s a bug killer too.

We'd be surprised if the fussy German marques played well with anything. ;)

You do make a fair point, Doug. I wouldn't have recommended the fluids that I did on p.1 if I hadn't first used them in my own vehicles, with proven compatibility.

I concur. I myself will not place Rainex products in any vehicles fluid reservoir.

On various vehicle forums, to include a few past posts in the JL and JT forums, you will see people post that Rainex washer fluid plugged their vehicles nozzles and reservoir filters and also had a negative impact on the fluid reservoir sensor.. posts say Rainex, also, inadvertently mixed with another brand/type caused major plugging issues...
