How to remove front fender rivets (2021 Sport)

Hey guys did any of you end up buying the push pins inside the fender? Some of mine broke off and am trying not to pay 2 dollars a pin at the dealer. Any Amazon links by any chance?

You mean those rivet things? I bought the plastic rivet tool kit at Harbor Freight in case I need them. As long as I don't remove the mudflaps I won't need them but I have them in case.

If you mean the barbed plastic push pins, my mudflaps came with new ones but I also bought a big assortment pack of them in the past from Amazon to keep around.

If you just punch the pin a few times with an automatic center punch it will release the rivets. No need to bring out a drill

I tried that with no luck. Since I knew they weren't going to be reusable in my case I just drilled them out. I used a drill bit that fits in my electric screwdriver so it wasn't spinning fast and was able to get it out without slippage or damage. Looks like the ones in the HF kit will work fine if I ever need them though.

Bummer, it worked quite well when I pulled the passenger fender to penetrate the firewall. Oh well, glad you got it figured out.

If I have to remove any in the future I will try your method again too. I was just pissed off and impatient at the time and knew the drill bit would get them out

Lol, do whatever works for you. I'm just waiting to take delivery on a new rig and I'm staring down the task of pulling the whole thing apart to wire everything and remove those fender extensions on the XR package. I'll be punching a bunch out here shortly. I was wondering if something maybe changed with the rivets they used, or if my punch was just an overachiever. Either way I've got a few dozen to take apart here in the coming weeks and I'm hoping they cooperate as well as they did the last time.
