How many use a screen protector to protect their infotainment screen? Why or why not? If you use one how have your results been? Durability? Links and pics are greatly appreciated! Thanks

No screen protector here. I tried the Mopar one. Twice. Couldn’t get it on perfectly with no bubbles. So I took it off.

That was one my concerns. They are a pain on cell phones and they are mobile. I can only imagine how much more difficult it would be on a stationary device.

I use one. Mostly to avoid leaving my fingerprints all over the touch screen.

I was going to vote no, then remembered that one of the first things I did was put a screen protector on. It was more for fingerprints than to protect the screen. If I had to do it over, I wouldn't bother.

I don’t understand the logic. You only see the fingerprints when the Jeep is off. If I even notice, it would be for 5 seconds when I first enter and when I leave.
Plus, most of us love our Jeep’s enough to keep em clean so when I clean my Jeep I clean the glass.

I wonder if it would be advisable in my situation since I am naked 6 months per year and live on dirt/gravel. Inside of JP is always coated with dust. Thinking about scratches when touching screen. She hasn't arrived yet so time to ponder.

No screen protector here, I weighed my options, and figured the odds of me dropping the infotainment system was pretty low.

I install them on day one, not only do they protect from fingerprints and scratches but there have been posts on the forums for issues with the protective screen coating failing. The protective coating can fail as a result of hand lotions or other chemicals that cause a reaction with the coating. The Mopar ones are really cheap insurance to prevent any issues.

Having followed forum posts here for almost 3 yrs. years now, I can tell you after doing so, there is no way I would not have a screen saver / protector on my JL's, 8.4 radio.

I run with the Mopar screen saver / protector offering..

There have been MANY forum posts talking damage to radio displays, from all sorts of things.... general wear/damage from pressing in the same place, damage from contaminants on the fingers that caused etching/eating away /screen failing of screen, scratched while wiping with a supposedly, clean cloth, kids scratching the screen, kids scratching with their pacifier, dog scratching it, mud on finger scratching it and more....

A screen saver on the 8.4 or any of the radios, is cheap insurance.....

I know I use one and NO, I do not use a screen saver on my Samsung S10, smartphone... The material that is on my smartphone is far more hardy lets say, then the crapola the 8.4 radio screen is made of..

I gather it's not still installed?
