Purple (Reign), 2-door, hard top...my perfect Jeep. I said 5-10 years, only because if they come out with purple again I might upgrade.

It's looking like 2026 might be your year.

I think this is probably too soon to upgrade, so maybe the time after this, lol.
Maybe then wait until they come out with a 2dr ,5.7, in purple?

According to my wife, until I’m buried in it. But if I keep dumping money into it, that might be sooner than I think.🤣🤣

I voted 2-5 years but only because we plan to sell almost everything buy a sailboat and sail around the world. Otherwise I would say 10+ years. But when we return from that adventure we plan to get a Jeep again to keep for as long as possible.

Run it till it's wearing out. And weigh out the cost vs longevity. I do my own work so when it rots out or major components that shouldn't be worn out start going than it's time to order the new one. My last one. 2008 jk 2door detenator yellow 6speed had 200k but the tub side body mounts and lader frame to the rear and tub qtrs were rotted. So it was time. Wish I kept it and made it into a trail rig.

I intend to keep mine for as long as possible but things come up. I went from a 2012 JKUR to an ordered 2019 JLUR and thought that would be mine for a long time only to see the 24s come out with major changes including safety so I traded in the 2019 and ordered my 2024 JLURX Recon. Besides the normal mods (GMRS hidden radio, ghost antenna, bull bar, KC lights...) I've installed Rock Slide Engineering Gen 3 steps with armor and an AEV snorkel so the intent is to build it to what I want.

I sold a CJ-7 years ago to pay for a new furnace for my first home. Looking back now, I think we could have lived without the furnace. But, parting with that Jeep I had built has bothered me ever since.

For whatever reason, finances, boredom, leases, mechanical, how long are you planning to keep your JL Wrangler?
Also, what is the reason behind your decision?
Coming up on 2 years so far and I still love driving it like the day I bought it, so no plans to trade up yet. I put until it blows up, but nobody knows what tomorrow brings, so who knows what life may throw my way. I have been eyeing the new 2025 Silverado 2500HDs tho... 😆. My wife hates me already.

My long-term plan is to keep it and when solid state batteries and axial-flux motors become commonplace, the Jeep aftermarket will offer a kit to install not one, but two batteries where the North American fuel tank and if the fuel tank can be installed on the passenger side of a right hand drive Wrangler. An axial-flux motor will replace the current pentastar. I will keep my manual 6-speed and install a motor with between 350-400 ft-lb of torque, which my Centerforce dual friction can easily handle.

This will only happen if the battery technology advances to allow a sub 10-minute charge from say 5%-90%, although 100% would be preferable. Range would also have to be close to 400 miles, since I tow and that would decrease range.
