How does brake cleaner work?

Is it like it attaches to grease molecules and evaporates them with itself as well? I saw some YouTube videos and mechanics use the brake cleaner and then they don't wipe afterwards, so what does that mean? Stupid grease develops in my engine bay over time. Can I blow them of with brake cleaner? I am tired of wiping it all the time. I want a super clean and shiny and grease free engine bay

NO!, It is corrosive. It will degrade rubber, plastic, paint, etc. There are products for cleaning the engine bay. I use Dawn in a bucket with water, like carwash. I'm careful not to get it in places I don't think it should go and then run the motor while I rinse, being careful not to get water in the air intake.

Use an all purpose cleaner / degreaser on the engine compartment. I use Dark Fury and dilute it 10:1 with water. Spray it on, let it dwell for a few mins, use a brush to agitate, rinse and repeat. Take advantage of dwell time to let the product do the work for you. Just don’t let the product dry on the surfaces. Engine does not have to be dead cold but a hot engine will just evaporate the water and cleaner

Back in the days where I gave a damn about what my engine looked like (I won awards with my 10AE Miata) I used Simple Green. It does wonders on grease.
