Here are the things I do in retirement.

1. The most important activity: napping whenever the hell I want to.😁

2. Household chores and home improvements/maintenance.

3. Feeding and watering the pony, reptiles, dogs, and cats.

4. Mowing and maintaining three acres.

5. Small farm maintenance (fences, etc.).

6. Coaching at an MMA gym for free, three nights a week. I’m too old to fight, so I teach others how to. Angelo Dundee was pretty damn old while coaching, so I figure I can too.

7. MMA cage-side judging at a large regional promotion, once a quarter.

8. Running errands, including grocery shopping (by myself - it’s MUCH quicker without the wife🤣).

9. Wheeling now and then.

10. Making snake hooks for my friends who set up a booth at reptile shows.

11. Making walking canes designed for self-defense, mostly for my friends.

12. Shooting practice with my neighbor at his house, on his range.

13. Visiting my neighbors, and sometimes helping them out.

14. Kayaking and fishing.

pretty good list...I have not learned how to take a nap....seriously I have never taken a nap. everything else except the snake thing seem about right...I like to do a lot of cycling and yesterday there was a dead snake on the road and I kid you not that thing was long as one lane of traffic and as bigger around than a silver dollar..big bull snake I should have taken a photo...I don't like snakes but hated seeing that big bugger squished because I hate gophers even worse...it was by a field full of gophers..

Invest, invest, invest. I wrote early on in this thread that my back gave up, and while that’s true, I also had started investing when I was 26. It’s amazing what investing and never taking money out will do for your financial well-being.

My plan to keel over just before I run out of money no longer seems viable after reading this thread.

First email I check after the above post. It’s like they know me.

This is also me! Started investing in my early 20s. I still remember my equity investment was Janus Fund. I preach to my kids ... "Save and invest your ass off in your 20s and 30s... You won't worry about money in your 50s."
