That was a good read. I think I am benefiting from it. I do a lot of heavy weight training and kettlebell exercises with athletic type movements and I think I am also seeing a reduction in muscle soreness and recovering faster between workouts.

Spent 22 years, 2 wars, and enough time away from home so I retired from the Corps in '04. Hitting year 20 this Aug with public school system and plan on retiring next summer 2026. Hope to buy a small overland camper to pull with the JLUR and see some sights.

I won't be able to as much as you do but will travel some with the wife, some with my dog Jake, and some with my brother who also has a JLUR. We have always talked about going out to Utah and places camping and trailing. We both have dual sport Kawasaki's that we want to drag out there too. He and I have also always talked about heading through Canada and Alaska to do some gold panning. 62 this year so it's time to get started on some of this stuff.

I have owned a few KLR 650 dual sport motorcycles. I have done those things including gold panning in the mountains in Alaska. The funny thing is when we were gold panning, the guys I were with were like, Hey don't take no pictures or post where you are gold panning and put it on social media as it can easily be someones claim and you do not want to end up in court. While I did not find any gold, a little bit was found among our group. They just dumped it back into the river.

The adventures are well worth the effort.

For some reason, after retiring, I have the touch.
This morning my phone blows up, "I'm going to kill my Manager' to "Can you follow up on a resume I sent in" to "Do you think I'm suitable for this position" to "Hey Dude, you looking for a job?"

Craziness, I hung up my gloves 2 months ago.
I was busy catching a mid-morning wine buzz while cleaning up an old wood pile in the far corner of my lot.

These text made my day.

How's your retirement going?

If this is what I have to look forward to in retirement, never mind. I'll just spend the money now while I'm still young-ish. LOL
:)

I recently got home from a week long trip to Charleston/Savannah with the wife.
I can't spend every week on the road, I have stuff to do at the homestead and she still works.
Sirius XMU Ch35 and some fermented grape juice beats sitting at a desk and tapping on a keyboard hands down. Today I started a wood working project in my basement shop.

worst thing about being retired is waiting for the FedEx or ups truck....when I worked I was at work so didn't care what time they dropped off but now it freaking matters lol...my neighbor who is also retired (we both 66yoa) do a weekly 12-16 mile hike and usually a 30-50 bike ride once a week together. We were talking this morning during our hike and was like man it would sux to wake up and have to go to work..

my routine is a brisk hour long walk thru the hilly part of town every morning.
me too - I'm waiting on UPS to deliver a wiring harness so I can finish installing my CAVFAB rear bumper.
