My 21 JLuR is starting to show around the hood and hinges. Not looking forward to the process. Been taking detailed notes on locations showing bubbling.

Not to hijack the thread but if you had repairs/replacements done, how long did it take?

Mine got sent to a body shop for the hood to be repainted, I know lots of people saying that's not the, "correct" fix, but so far so good. All in all, it took 9 days once I dropped off the Jeep to the dealer

That's the craziest excuse I ever heard, how is it your problem/fault that there are a lot of Jeeps with corrosion issues in your area? That sure sounds like a Stellantis issue to me. Also, why does it matter how many checks Stellantis has to cut to one particular dealer? If it's a warranty issue, it shouldn't matter where it's coming from. Definitely check another dealer
Yeah, that's a BS response. There is a CDJR dealer is Connecticut that is soliciting owners to come to their bodyshop if they are having problems getting another dealer to fix it.

Well, the saga continues. I brought it to the dealership and they acknowledged that there is a 5 year corrosion warranty on my Jeep but "they've used up their corrosion allocation for the year in the first 2 months". So - I can wait until 2026 and get in line. What the hell? It's covered under warranty but they can't fix it? I'm going to try another dealership.

In case you have corrosion, you won't have luck at AutoNation Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM Carlsbad. Service advisor Seth isn't up to speed on warranty coverage either.
Due to the low reimbursement rate to dealers for the corrosion repair, some dealers limit how many they take on. My dealer used to limit their intake to one a week (or month) and then would have their lowest paid workers to the work.

Well, I'm bringing my Jeep in tomorrow to have it looked at. When I made the appointment, a service advisor called me and told me that since I was >36K miles it isn't covered. I told him it's obviously a defect in the paint and after much hemming and hawing he said he could start a claim with Stellantis. According to him "I've never seen this covered outside the 36K warranty, only when they had the extended warranty". I'm very disappointed that the first stance is "not our problem" and will only file a claim after pulling teeth. Really hoping Stellantis does the right thing.

@JeepCares - if you have interest in helping out, I can DM you the dealership and service advisor's name.
We would be happy to check on this for you. Please send us a private message with the last eight characters of the VIN and mileage.

OK - so I brought my Jeep in to Kearny Mesa Jeep and they took me in right away. They sent me next door to the body shop, they took pictures and I just heard back that the warranty work was approved. Now for the mind-blowing part - corrosion at the hinges can be repaired, corrosion at the edges cannot. Aside from the obvious hood corrosion, they found corrosion at the edge of all 4 doors 🤯.

So - I'm getting a new hood and 4 new doors. I'm really glad the warranty covers this (I'll have to buy a new aftermarket anti-glare hood decal) but wow - just wow.

Replacing panels with corrosion at the seams has been the recommended remedy since 2/23 when the updated TSB was released.

The dealership doesn't want to put the effort and minimal money they get into it. This is all the dealership...

Quick, go do Bronco's Peak and bash those doors in before you replace!

OK, just took it in today and they said they'd have it for around 3 weeks. All the parts are in so I'm inclined to believe that estimate. I called the Jeep consumer line and they said they'd reimburse a rental (up to $40/day). I'm currently approved for 3 days but they're escalating the case to extend (possibly week-by-week).

So, instead of my Jeep I'm currently rocking this Kia Niro EV. Works out since we have a level 2 charger already installed at my house. I've gotta believe this will be cheaper to run than my Jeep on 37's 😆

If you pay the average San Diego kWh rate of $.39/kWh, it might not be cheaper.
