I’m planning to pull a T@B 320 trailer with my stock JL Rubicon Unlimited this summer.

What drop will I need for the receiver hitch?

If I’m not mistaken, T@B is saying that the height at the top of the ball is 16 inches, and the top my Rubicon hitch is about 20.5 inches...

Drop = 16 - 2 - 21 = -7

Does a 7 inch drop make sense?

Thanks,
Daniel

Unless you are lifted, a 7” drop would be a bit overkill for a jl

I have a 2018 JL Rubicon and use a 7 3/4 inch drop. This has worked well for me. You don't want the the front of the T@b 320 to be high, as this can induce sway under some conditions. Also, keeping the front at a level position gives the spare tire on the back pretty good clearance. I have towed like this for about one thousand miles with no problems. The new ZF 8 speed transmission is your best friend when towing the T@b.
If you have Boondock or Outback edition your hitch drop would be less. I have a stock Rubicon and a stock 320.

Now in Cape Cod / Truro .... Life is good ! Now, I just hope that they open the access to the ORV... it’s been closed since July 05th due to the birds...
