Is it just me or do prices seem higher then normal right now?
Everything is priced higher nowadays. Cars, gas, food - you name it. Global pandemics, amongst other things, have this affect.

Let's face it, people will pay more, and Jeep keeps raising the cost, since they know we will pay it....

Don't quote me on this, but I think there's a microchip shortage right now that's effecting vehicle production. We saw it with graphic cards and the tech industry, and now we're seeing the impact with vehicles.

Microchips shortage. Not a good time to buy a car.
The auto industry is just the most visible case of the failure of the "just in time" supply chain philosophy. A disruption somewhere creates a "butterfly effect" elsewhere.

Our configuration that we ordered in June of last year is nearly $1600 more now.

The auto brands aren't really complaining because the chip shortage controls supply and demand and allows price inflation. I think the chip shortage hit and car companies had a eureka moment. There's going to be significant profit made.

Threads like this existed well before the pandemic. I think Jeep is trying to see how far upmarket they can go. American Land Rover essentially. Which is ironic given that Land Rover kind of started out as a cheap Jeep knockoff. Haha
