I want to add a usb hub in the duck pond on my dash, I have the aux switches already and know where I can wire to them, I just don't know how to hide the wires going to them. Any advise would be appreciated.

The dash pulls straight out after removing the screws above the radio. With that you should have access to the tray and can make a hole the size of the plug. but beware of mounting an outlet with the opening up, stuff can fall into it. Might just notch the from the back and mount the plug horizontal

You have a duck pond on your dash? I'm just curious and intrigued.

To answer your question, you can pull the dash apart or use some wire loom to run it across the dash. Pictures would help us understand the location and how to hide it.

Installed one on each side for USB power to electronics on the dash. Pulled the radio out, dropped the windshield, drilled two holes, wired to Aux switch 4.

Pulling out the dash, dropping windshield, etc. is much too finical for my liking.

With my radar detector (which sits center dash), I opted to run the cable hidden along the top of the dash.

The leather part of the dash sits about a quarter-inch or so higher than the plastic. Which makes the leather edge perfect for hiding cables.
  • Route cable against leather edge, securing with 3M cable clips where needed.
  • Tuck cable between leather edge and speaker cover
  • Once you get to the A-pillar, tuck cable behind trim pieces / glovebox
  • Then over to your aux cable

That's exactly what I was picturing. It's much easier than trying to take half the dash apart and put back together.

I'm sure you've seen them. I am personally not anti-duck, but I only have two on my dash. I'll let other ppl post their "ponds."
Maybe I'm just overthinking this. I pictured blue felt on the dash where people line them up. Is a 'duck pond' just throwing the ducks on your dash and calling it a day?

Like you, I'm not anti-duck, but I don't have any on my dash. I personally find them taking too much real estate up in the already tiny windshield. And if you go offroading, those ducks are flying and sliding.

My kids love ducking jeeps and my daughter tries to line them up on my dash....but it's just not me.

I think so, although some people do have elaborate setups. Maybe the OP does, too. If it requires a USB port, it might be worth a pic! (Hint, Hint @JeepgirlJL2121 )

Lol, no it's the spot on the dash above the stereo. I don't know what to call it, I just put the ducks in that tray? ?
