Windshield wires??

hi

I was about to put down the windshield and just noticed these 2 wires. What are they for, and what is the procedure to remove them so you can fold down the windshield? 2019 JLRU thanks

Those are related to Adaptive Cruise Control..

thank you, wondering then how do i lower the windshield I can't tell but doesn't seem like there is a lot of slack on those wires.... but if there was having 2 wires shooting across the drivers view . doesn't seem good. new at this. so want to be sure i am not overlooking something... seems odd design.

DO, use your FCW Sensor Protective Cover...

Your vehicle is equipped with a protective cover that is to be used whenever the windshield is folded down in order to protect the FCW sensor.

To install the cover, follow the instructions below.
1.Secure the top part of the cover so that it hinges to the header.
2.Swing the cover down and push on it so that it covers the opening.
3.Check to make sure the cover is secured properly.

NOTE: Be sure to remove the cover before returning the windshield to the normal position. Store the cover in the cargo area.

Cleaning Instructions
During windshield down applications, dust/dirt can accumulate in the cover and block the camera lens. Use a microfiber cloth to clean the camera lens, module, and inside cover, being careful not to damage or scratch the module.

thanks again, clear on protecting the big sensor, but my concern/question was strictly those 2 wires -- I am having trouble picturing putting down the window w/2 wires. still connected i gotta be missing something...

now i got it, my problem was it seemed like the wires were coming from the roll bar body frame part. but thanks to your photo i can now see it is somehow routed into the windshield molding/frame arm and i guess connected into the lower dash ...whew. owe you one nobody i knew. had that. again thanks!!

A picture is worth a thousand words..

About the windshield..... if/when you go to put it down, it will resist after you unbolt it.. You will think something is a muck so to speak.. Just get butch with it so to speak and it will proceed forward..

Also, if/when you need to replace the windshield, it is imperative that you tell the glass shop thay you have the windshield with the 2 wires coming out of it.... Your windshield is different then a JL without that option you have.

ahh. extra special 'pre wired' glass. never woulda. known--- wonder if they also have 2 versions for the gorilla, that said i sure hope i don't break it. but stuff happens...

definately was great to have the photo and appreciate the extra. tips. maybe i'll put a little gummifledge around. it while down.. needed to route /tuck a few wires. in there clean it etc. really appreciate it!

Is there a part number on the cover? Never got one with my Jeep.

Can you look at your cover and see if there is a part # stamped on it... If so please post here.

sure i am out of town now. but. back few days i'll check it out, it seems. from the photo that it is the tray that has the jeep toolkit. on it. i never knew that was the cover i thought it was just to hold the tool pouch.
