I know that a lot of areas that do not have 93 octane available and some are looking for that and maybe a little more
This story is a great read on how E-85 Race fuel compares to 93 octane and adding boostane to it for the numbers you are looking for. I have used it in several different applications and no issues at all. And yes to high of an octane number does not mean it going to make more power. Maybe it would help out some offroaders where getting 91 is even an issue.

This site is great for information on real world trial and error. I almost feel sorry for that old Thunderbird 302 block, 74 dyno pulls and some over 820 hp but the 93 octane with the Boostane additive did really well compared to the Boostane E-85 Race Fuel

If you have to put in an octane rated higher than what it calls for, you have an issue that needs to be fixed.
If you go to higher elevations they offer lower octane, but it's fine. I think it starts at 85. Oddly when we were in Colorado using 85 I was getting better mpg than with 87 in Dallas TX.

Good to carry if “premium required”. A friend’s cabin is on the Stanislaus River in the Dardanelles, Ca. 😁. The closest little store/gas has one regular pump only. There are others in remote locations. He has pics of his grandfather’s Model A (they still have) strapped with lumber on the old essentially one lane road (now hwy 108) when it was being built- beautiful county, but the nearest premium is a long way away.

Thin / dry air is a lot easier to move through than the "thick" air in Dallas. But then again we've got quite a bit less oxygen available at altitude.

E15/Unleaded88 is an easy solution, otherwise I've been known to splash blend 2-3 gallons of E85 into a tank to up that octane a bit.
