This is what most people don't understand. If you're 3.6 isn't performing optimally on 87 you're probably buying junk gas.
Did it ever occur to you that when we buy gas, we might be buying both 87 and 91/93 at the same gas stations?

I dont think I have more power with 93.
It just feels smoother and the rattle hiccup quick cough on acceleration is gone.

Now... my brakes are squeaking with only 6000 miles on them so thats a different story.
Is that what it’s called? Rattle hiccup? Lol I had that same noise on a 15 Cherokee. I hate it

Absolutely. That doesn't mean it's not junk, just that the 91/93 is less junky.
Fair enough. I only use Chevron and Shell which are supposed to be "top tier". But I can't argue that it's not junk when it contains 10% ethanol.

Could even just be a specific station. All of my 60s era cars were very finicky about where I bought gas from if I wanted to run regular.
