Hi all. I need help with N terminal connections in Wrangler JL. Originally my car stalled and was towed to a dealership.

The repair was not completed and I took it back due to multiple reasons. But once I came home I found that N3 terminal is disconnected and that lead is connected to N4. Is this normal?

I am aware that N4 is usually empty. Also does anyone have an idea about what lead goes to what terminal.

I just want to make sure that they did not do anything by mistake or purposefully. It did run until my home but check engine light was on.

The main reason I didn't want to finish the work there because they are extremely rude and inefficient. I am taking it to another dealership nearby.

Connecting the lead to N4 instead of N3 shouldn't cause any problems, both N3 and N4 supply system power through 150A fuses.

@Jebiruph

BUT, wouldn't it make more sense ... be the norm lets say to use N3 ...what you see from the factory.... do what you'd expect to see .. versus the way he left it.

Makes me wonder about the Tech... question things so to speak.

---I deleted my other posts in this thread as to not confuse the issue.... ----

Hopefully, this JL owner finds a Service Dept. that.... 8-)

Yes, everything should be returned to factory. The OP seemed to be asking about possible harm and there should not be any. In fact, his original stall may have been caused by a blown N3 fuse and the tech may have intentionally moved the N3 lead to N4. Maybe replacement fuses are hard to come by these days.

@Maverick85 , if it ends up you have a blown ESS (N3) fuse, it looks like the tech knew what he was doing.

@Jebiruph Thank you much. It makes sense. I disconnected everything and waiting for the part. I made an appointment at another dealership but earliest available is July 14th. I am hoping once I change the fuse array, I should be able to use my Jeep until 14th with check engine light on.

Fuses are tough to get right now particularly the larger sizes. Would not be shocked if these embedded fuse module that FCA uses is tough to get as well.

@Maverick85

You are aware that there are 2 different part numbers in regard to the Mopar Z Case Fuse Array.
One offering is for a JL/JT with the Tow Package and the other if you do not have the tow package.

IF you have the tow package you need to use 68368854AA Mopar Z Case Fuse Array, not the 68368853AA Mopar Z Case Fuse Array that JL/JT's that do not have the tow package use.

I know this is an old thread, so sorry for tagging along-but I’ve recently needed to replace the fuse array. I have a 2018 JLUR with the “trailer tow and HD equipment group “. I assumed this meant I needed the higher amp 68368854AA, so I picked that up and was going to install it. After pulling the old fuse array, I saw that I had the 68368853AA fuse. I checked my cooling fan and sure enough, it’s the 650 amp standard cooling fan. Is the trailer tow and hd equipment group the same as tow package listed in this thread? Was the higher amp cooling fan a change made after the 2018 JLUR model?
