I had a mopar lift installed on my 4xe Rubicon before delivery. Out on the trail with sway disconnected I heard some loud noises while really flexing it. I wasn't sure if this was normal, so I hopped on here to do some research. It didn't seem like normal sounds and I came across discussions about recalled lifts, etc.

In my research I found a Mopar sheet listing the part numbers for lift components for each model. Crawled under the Jeep and my nothing was from the 4xe kit. Rear springs were from one kit, rear shocks another and same with the front. It's like someone filled a box with whatever was on the shelf and shipped it to the dealer as a 4xe lift.

I sent pics to the dealer and they ordered another lift. This past week they put the new lift on with all the correct part numbers. When I got it back it looked shorter, and the bumper cap behind the rear wheels had been removed. (Piece that commonly rubs) I'm running 37 ko'2s and had never had any rubbing.

Best I can tell the correct lift is two inches shorter in the front and about an inch in the rear than what I had. I think everyone can agree this is giving me a bit of performance anxiety. I had 9 inches between the tire and fender before and now I have 7. Maybe 7 is fine, but it's disappointing if your used to 9. Probably not as bad as going from 5 to 3 but still an issue.

So how do I regain my swagger. Do I put spacers on top of the mopar lift, if I do will I need new links or other parts? Do I kiss my 2k installed lift goodbye and start over? Do I convince myself that 7 is fine, it's not about height, more in the motion? I'd love to know if anyone has successfully installed a lift extension that still performs!

Sorry to hear that!! If it comes down to you having to cut your losses in the end. MC cloak makes a great high quality kit for 4xes

Yes, 4xe Mopar Lift commonly only provides a net lift of 1" on the Rubicon.
That’s crazy! Considering the mopar lift height has always been quoted for rubicons and the lift nets way more than 2.5” to sports and saharas. It’s looks like it’s flipped for the 4xe? True ~2.5” for non-rubicons and only 1” for the rubicons??

That's a hell of a solution. MC's coils are only $450 shipped for the whole set.
Yes...but then if he wants to level out...still needs spacers...this does both in one shot...admittedly a tad more expensive but, if he ever adds weight to the Jeep causing sag, he can readjust these to get the height back...up to 4".

Have you thought about just stuffing a sock in your underpants and calling it good?

Sorry. I couldn't resist. I'm older than dirt, but still just 14 years old in my head.

I have the Mopar lift and it's been great, though mine is not a 4xe. I've also added a couple components to make it better (not taller). I'm sure the same can be done to yours and, if you run some challenging trails and you find you're rubbing significantly there are some easy fixes to get a bit more lift.

I'd put a few hundred trail-miles on your jeep to see if the current set up grows on you. You can always tweak it later.

What??? It’s a proper mopar 2.5” lift specifically for the 4xe but it provides only 1” inch of lift?:surprised:

i know you measured wheel to fender distance but can you also measure the shaft of the rear shocks at ride height so we can see how much down travel you have based on your shocks? Or are you unable to measure the length of the shaft because the mopar shocks have roost shields that cover the entire shaft?
Couldn't measure rear shock shaft. Measured top of axle to bottom of frame front and back. I'll try to find a stock 4XE Rubi to compare

measure shock length at their mounting locations. (bolt to bolt). front and rear. That's gonna tell you where you are at compared to regular rubis with the mopar lift, and if adding spacers or longer coils could be detrimental to ride quality.

Look at your lift as a whole system instead of "how tall my Jeep is". Because that's what matters, really.

We’ll, I guess some math would be in order, but this is the front with my lift, my shock eye to eye is 24.25”.

If it’s 2” more than yours, (8 vs 6) puts yours just over 22” shock length. Which is where I was with 2” spacers after 4 months of settlement.

OK, is that center of the bolt in the eye or full length, top edge to bottom edge? My center of eye bolt top to bottom is 21" in front. I don't have that measurement from the first lift.

The rear with 1.5” spacers was 24 1/4 passenger, 24 5/8 driver

Edit: can’t remember how full the tank was at that measurement.

Are you happy with your ride on 3.5 MC? I think that is the height I want to be. Last trip out I was descending a ledge and only had .5 inch clearance on t-case skid. As I sit today I would be high centered.
