You could also color match it over the texture then instead of a gloss clearcoat, do a matte. That way the texture isn’t overwhelming like it would be with gloss.

Should be able to find someone w/ a Sting gray that would swap the grill, it's a simple 15 minute swap. I'd imagine if you posted a Want to Trade post in the classifieds you'd have someone willing to almost instantly and probably within a short distance

I agonized over the color matched top vs black top on my Sting Grey Rubi XR. But I went with black in the end, and am VERY glad I did. I’ve since seen a few painted Sting Gray tops in the wild and I’m fairly certain I would have been disappointed seeing both in person. (No offense to those who love theirs)

I ordered the same thing except I got the satin black grille. I’m hoping the black hardtop/fenders/grille give it some nice contrast. If I hate it I’ll just swap it out and give the satin grille to my mom who was incredibly sad that her Sahara 4XE didn’t come with a black grille like my Willy’s did.

It’ll look great. That house you can see behind my Jeep; guy has a sting gray JLW with black top and fender flares. That Jeep is ???????

I didn’t know he had it until after I got mine. I didn’t live here when I ordered last year. He rarely ever drives it, just to run errands on Saturday mornings, and for Sunday drives.

One day I might need to offer to purchase it from him, since I’m sure it’s in mint shape.

I swapped an entire hardtop for someones other-color hardtop so I don't doubt you'll find people wililng to sell/trade a black grill for a body colored grill. I personally don't like the black grills and it'd be one of the first things I removed but my jeeps also very white and black.

FWIW I hated my color matched hardtop. It made my jeep look like a milk truck. But I do wish my fenders were painted, except they get beaten up/ripped off all the time so probably a bad idea in my case.

A lot of people want black grills if you don't.
