Can you give us details on the Anti Spin Diff/D44 rear axle option (DSA) when ordering a 6 speed manual transmission (DEM). Others on this forum have confirmed that when ordering a 6 speed manual (DEM) it now requires the Anti Spin Diff/D44 rear axle option (DSA). Why is that? Is this a new development from engineering or simply a parts supply shortage that will be corrected?

The Jeep online configurator still allows you to build a 6 speed manual without selecting the Anti Spin Differential Rear Axle option. If required, this raises the base MSRP by $595.

Thank you.

I wonder how people complaining about wind noise drove a wrangler before they got their JL. If you drove anything other than a Wrangler before your new JL you will notice wind noise. There's nothing wrong with your top. It's a Jeep..... I can't wait until Spring so I can drop top and get a whole lot of "Wind Noise" for about 6 months.

Did you have any issues putting it in4H? Or is it simply a different feel to it?
I drove one the other day and it is a firm pull nothing that I thought was wrong just firm.

It certainly sounded as though some of those complaining had valid points of comparison such as a JK, and at least one managed to significantly alleviate the noise by adjusting the hardware holding it in place.

I wonder how many people complaining about people complaining bothered to read the complaints with an open mind.

I think it's pretty clear. @JeepCares is here to monitor the forum. They did not say they will be interacting with members the way @JLWF Dealer Guy does. Don't expect them to. I would hope when something like @newJLUguy's story happens, they will PM him and handle it. They probably are keeping tabs on busy threads and sending internal FCA messages like "Hey factory dudes, we're seeing a bunch of complaints about wind noise. You should have QC double-check that." I wouldn't expect much more.
Exactly - I've been in contact with Darlene from the @JeepCares Twitter account and she's been in contact with folks on the inside. That's how my Jeep went from swiped to delivered to Memphis in 3 weeks.

Welcome Jasmine/Julie @ Jeep Cares....46 posts, no reply? Almost two months since my JL order, my only question has been “when is 2door production scheduled to begin?” cricket sounds...dealer, factory rep, Jeep Chat & Customer care...useless!
Ummmm. You ordered a vehicle that they don't produce yet and now you want to complain that they are not producing your vehicle? The schedule is available on this site. Maybe do a little of your own leg work.

Hi Aaron,

Thanks for the welcome. I just got in touch with an internal resource and was informed production for the power top will begin early June. I do apologize for any frustrations as a result of this. If you have any other questions, please let me know.

Yikes! Thanks for the update Jasmine. Dealers are saying as of last night the power top is available for order so I assumed production would start soon. If anything changes, I'd be grateful if you let us know. Not missing another summer of offroading so I plan to buy something (Jeep or Truck) well before June.

“Wind noise” with the hard (or soft) top up? That’s silly. Clearly these people have not previously owned a Jeep. Otherwise, they would understand that Jeep engineers have spent countless hours perfecting the “Continuous Outdoor Effect” (COE for short) to allow Jeep owners to feel as if they NEVER have the top up! It’s as if you are driving topless all the time. This is especially cleverly engineered during rainstorms when, with the top up, you continue to experience the effects of rainwater via carefully engineered “Rain Facilitiation Drainage Points” (RFDP for short) found throughout the soft top and ordinarily at the seams of the hard top where rain seeps in to give one a “top down” experience in inclement weather when, in actuality, the top is up. These benefits are carefully designed to provide Jeep owners with the ultimate in topless driving-whether the top is down or not.
