Debating on getting one of these for my 2020 Sport. I currently have the 5” radio, so no car play, though I do have the upgrade Alpine system.
Is it worth the $1100?

If not, what are some other viable options? Don’t want to spend the money on the Alpine restyle, as I don’t care for how the smaller Alpine restyle looks.

If you’re just looking for carplay, you can normally pick up a 7” OEM radio for $3-400. That’s just wired carplay unless you use a wireless dongle. If you’re also looking for an audio upgrade or other features of the Stinger, that’s a different question.

I’ll eventually upgrade more of the stereo, just really can’t stand the 5” screen. Missed out on an 8.4” for $220 locally by about an hour.

I just upgraded to the Horizon 10. Little more expensive but it is IP65 weather resistant. I am happy with it. The BT CarPlay works flawlessly and instantly connects unlike the uconnect. I primarily upgraded for this as well as to add a front camera for off-roading. The screen is hi definition and the cameras are really clear. Instal is not that bad.

Heigh10+ was my next choice if I hadn’t found a deal on an OEM 7” and 8.4”.

I actually think carplay on the 7” isn’t acceptable as it is minimized on the screen in uconnect. It is also minimized on the 8.4 but the screen is big enough.

Would recommend checking out some online junkyards and ebay if you’re considering OEM upgrades. I’ll save you some time and headache- if you go 7” or 8.4”, you’ll lose your volume knob, and threads saying you can use a different center stack aren’t clear about the compromises of doing this….
