This tread makes me very happy that I opted for the cold weather group from the factory. It seems like quite a bargain given the cost of the parts and the time invested. I’m glad to know that technically adept and motivated folks can do it after the fact though.
I agree with you CT. Unfortunately, mine was not a cold weather group nor am I that technically gifted. I do ok, but this seems above my pay grade.

do you have a part number for the steering wheel harness? The original one doesn't include the 4 wires for the heater and sensor. This is the orange one inside the steering wheel.

nvm... found it.

Hi!

So I have most parts in route. If the weather warms up (I don't have a garage) I'll try to do some of this work this week. What pin extraction/insertion tools did you need?

Thanks!

A tiny jeweler's flat-tip screwdriver was the best tool for pin extraction. Insertion requires nothing unless a strip on the plug needs to be removed.

Gotcha! I have some extraction tools from other connectors which look like the flathead screwdriver, so hopefully I'm in good shape. Assuming I don't screw things up I'll post when I have the seats working.

Practice on connectors or pins that you won't need if using a donor harness. Some are easier than others. Some make you want to scream.

Glad to see it can be done, I intend to do this (a heated revesol wheel of I can find one) along with seats and the advanced climate control dash panel soon. I'm in the same boat - couldn't afford the big bucks options or find them locally anyways, but with -7 mornings this month, I'd like the extra warmth!

I'm doing this on a 2019 Wrangler Sport JL but can't get the passenger seat to work. The steering and driver seat work fine. I ohmed out the passenger seat but it just won't turn on. When I select the seat heater, the 3 lights come on high like they are suppose to, but go out after 5 sec. I ohmed out the heating pads, and the heat sense circuits, and they ohm out just like the drivers seat. I'm tempted to just swap seats and see if the passenger seat will work in the drivers position. Something else I'm having a problem with is that in JSCAN, I go to the seat and steering module in the modules screen and it says its not installed. Is this normal? any help?.

I find the OEM cold weather package on the Jeep is incredibly powerful in comparison to our Volvo and BMW- the Jeep seats and wheel get much hotter which to me is a good thing. I have the soft top and in winter extra heat is useful.

Curious if the OP's work is as good?

For the Rubicon the Cold Weather package is only $895, and they spent between $600 - $700 for the used parts and then all the time to install. I too am glad that I configured my 2023 with the package from the factory.
well because Jeep is a bunch of greedy assholes, can’t get cold weather on some jeeps.

the greed of these companies is disgusting. I should be able to order a sport with steel bumper group if I want. Or a Willys sport with dual top group or a rubicon with manual windows.

instead have to spend 40k on a new car and spend another 10k to make it not suck.

Interesting on the ohms reading but swapping or testing another set of pads is probably a good option. I know how to install it but testing...not so much :)

I never set the options in JSCAN or AlphaOBD to show the steering wheel and seat heaters. Since the climate stack buttons worked immediately I didn't see the need. I'm wondering if that would then display the options within UConnect?

Where is everyone getting the wiring schematics from?
I'm gathering parts for this and would like to know if I could go further and swap in a 392 button assembly to have the exhaust toggle so I can control a aftermarket valvtronic exhaust. I'm sure it's on a unused pin set just like the rear foglights.

Love to find how the high altitude trims are tying in the turn signal mirrors and halos since those used to be a one or other deal since they were on the same pin, door harness is a new part number and relatively cheap but after that I need diagrams

I had forgotten why I skipped it then I just went and looked. The cold weather group on my Sport S would be $1840. That is an f'n RIPOFF.
