The Sahara and Rubicon, both, have the Big Brake Kit on them from the factory.Hi guys... I'm looking to do brakes and rotors on my girlfriend's 2020 Wrangler Unlimited Sahara. How do I tell if it has heavy duty brakes on the front? Everywhere I look for front pads asks this question. I appreciate any and all help.
Thanks guys!
I also assume my '25 Willys has the HD brakes since it has the 33's and wide D44s yeah? The Sahara and Rubicon, both, have the Big Brake Kit on them from the factory.
You can also look up your build sheet if you wanted to go that far and it would tell you, as well.
Hmm... that's a good question. I don't know about the Willy's. I know if you get the XR package, you get big brakes, but the Willy's and wide axles... not sure.I

Thanks chevy...can I get away with cracking the bleeder to push the pistons back so I don't mess up the abs? I don't need a trip to the dealerThe Sahara and Rubicon, both, have the Big Brake Kit on them from the factory.

You won't mess up the ABS pushing the pistons back. I wouldn't crack the bleeders without pressure pushing fluid out. You'll just introduce air. Thanks chevy...can I get away with cracking the bleeder to push the pistons back so I don't mess up the abs? I don't need a trip to the dealer
You don’t need to bleed brakes for changing pads. You'll want to bleed the brakes though.
If they are doing pads and rotors you should though. You don’t need to bleed brakes for changing pads.
Just open the fluid reservoir and push the pistons back. Change pads. Put cap back on.
You’re talking about flushing then. Sure, that makes sense. You’ll need a scan tool capable of running the ABS pump for the procedure. Flush or bleed. If they are doing pads and rotors you should though.
Brake fluid is hygroscopic and should be changed every 3 years or so.
A simple bleed will do good enough of a job. You’re talking about flushing then. Sure, that makes sense. You’ll need a scan tool capable of running the ABS pump for the procedure. Flush or bleed.
If he’s just swapping out pads, this isn’t a necessary or required step.
