Has anyone installed the Mopar Trailer Brake Controller?

When you push the knob to activate the manual brake option do you get warning lights on the dash?

Follow post 70 -72 and you'll know what to do. Mopar/FCA should have their ass kicked over this one. Absolutely the worst business behaviour imaginable....
1.) Not including the brake controller in the tow package from the factory
2.) Releasing an OEM trailer control that is NOT compatible with the vehicle

Really reprehensible and simply bullshit.

No matter what... here's the deal.
There is only 4 wires. Blue, black, red and white. You can swap the blue and black all day long, but the red has power and the white is a ground.
You swap those and there's going to be smoke.

Dunno how your controller is wired but, on the one I have, it didn't work.

Don't know what to tell you.
This is 100% incorrect. Black is 12v+, white is 12v-, red is 12v+ trigger from brake switch, blue is 12v+ brakes (from controller)

No it should not be closed, it's up to Mopar to get a fix not anyone else. I paid for a working controller and I expect that. I want to see when Mopar/Jeep to come up with a fix.

2 Things...

1. If you have a Jeep built before 1/2020, the stability control errors is a known issue. You can either await the Mopar fix, or use the Tekonsha 3073-P harness to fix it in the mean time.
2. The controller will not light up at all without a trailer hooked to it. It’s not tied into the dash lights in any way.

1. Yup I will wait.
2. It was light up with a red light on the dial until I pressed the manual control. So I'm not sure until it's completely functional what the issue is.

Could be a long wait. I'm telling you though, if you want to have trailer brake now, just follow what Jwilson an I did.

I got it installed now, I do not need it until April or May. I wanted to be on the fix list.

Just sent in a note to Jeep Cares about the error code "Service Electronic Stability Control"...lets see how they reply.

I'm betting the OEM harness needs a diode but WHY would these idiots release a controller that obviously does not work properly, it's just beyond be. I intentionally waited for the release of the Mopar controller just because I didn't want to be jacking around with wires and diodes. Really pisses me off.

Additionally, this frigg'n controller should have been installed from the factory along with the tow package and not after the fact. The entire project is not for the shade tree mechanic or some poor sap dicking around in the garage drinking beer. Installation is no joke. Working with a shop light and a mirror under that dash most of the time and shoe horning myself under there to cut wire ties and mount the control was one of the most miserable jobs I've tackled for some time.

If I had to do it over I'd have the dealer do the install and then get on there ass when it threw the error code. Now I'm gonna have to deal with it.

On a lighter note, I was able to move the 12v auxiliary port. After serious planing, I really found only one place that works (at least for me). Attached is a photo.

So there you have it, If you plan on installing this controller yourself, be ready to go to battle.

Yes you will see the red light when you press the brake pedal at first startup. What Imeant was it won’t light up with the dash lights Without a trailer attached. Mine is dark at night too unless I hook up the trailer, then it’s lit like the rest of the dash.

If you don’t have a trailer connected, You will only see that on the first brake press after the Jeep has sat for 15 or more minutes and the controller has gone to sleep. Make sure to read the operations card that came with it, they explain all of this pretty well on there.
