What is the proper torque for the T50 bolts for the hard top? Manual says around 112 in-lbm for front 2 and 158 in-lbm for the rear 6. Saw other posts for 2018+ JLs with lower amounts.

Thanks in advance for any info!

Right or wrong, here’s what I was told second hand in the JL section at this site. I really should take a minute to see if it’s in the owners manual. When this guy replied ā€œYesā€ I thought it may have been a service manual initially but that seems silly to only have it there now giving it some thought.

It’s in the manual. I replied the the OP’s other thread with this info:

The Torx fasteners that attach the hard top to the body should be torqued as follows using the provided #50 Torx head driver and ratchet:

Hard top to B-pillar: 119 in-lb +/- 23 in-lb(13.5 NĀ·m +/- 2.7 NĀ·m)

Hard top to J-rail: 154 in-lb +/- 30 in-lb(17.5 NĀ·m +/- 3.5 NĀ·m)

Owner’s manual? I went and looked at the hardtop removal section and all it said was the install was the reverse of the removal so I was back to thinking it’s in the service manual instead. Shrug

I found this 9lb ft spec in this torque thread around here too. I guess that’s where the + or - 30 in lbs comes in.

Sure does. We have a 19 and 21. I couldn’t find it in the pdf 19 copy. I looked in our paperback 21 manual and it’s on 93 like you said. Right now, on the updated pdf copy downloadable from Mopar, it is on page 109.

Given the size and quality of the provided tool kit, the required torque for any of the fasteners it should be used for is very low. I just give them a little tug and call it good enough.
