Why what is the reason so many people use the taser or other after market devices on their jeeps ?

yeah, CrapGPT missed one of my fav reasons; tying in the Hood to the Alarm (like it should have been in the first place).

aside from the Hood Alarm enabling, primary reasons for me were enabling the ESS button hold, and later adjusting the speedo to compensate for tire size and gearing changes.

Here’s what I would suggest. Watch these Tazer related YouTube videos in this order.

There are two Tazer related YouTube videos with @Tech Tim from @Northridge4x4 .

Next watch the Quadratec video with, Hey Robbie here, talking about the Tazer.

Then start watching Tazer videos done by the manufacturer on Zautomotive’s YouTube channel. Their written instructions were not intuitive for me at least. Their tutorial and walk through videos are pretty well done.

As shown above the Taser will let you control so many things.

The most common things we see the Taser used for are:
  • Start/Stop disable
  • Tire size setting after adding bigger tires
  • Adjust tire pressure alert level for running lower pressure without warning alerts
  • LED headlamp setting when swapping from halogen to LED headlights
  • To read Diagnostic Troubleshoot codes and reset them

The last bullet point is a secret…this list was just a teaser. You have to watch the videos with Tech Tim if you really want to know. Watch until the very end for the post credit scenes.

for me, i set most of my permanent stuff with jscan, like tire size and gear changes so it doesn't get wonky when I unmarry the tazer. However, just by plugging the tazer in you get the ess management, the ability to use your rear locker in 2wd, front locker in 4hi, it stops that stupid 3 beep alarm when you get out of the drivers seat, etc. But largely what I use it for are just the passive benefits it gives.
