Hmm, I took a road trip last night to watch some hockey (250 miles round trip) and saw this fluid this morning. I don't have a black light to know for sure, but leaking rear shocks? Approximately 1400 on the odometer.

Dang cold weather...seals just don't hold up

If you haven't already...try it get the fluid off those tires if it is still there. Hydraulic fluid and tires don't play together very well.

No big deal-they will replace it. I had two go bad on my last JK rubicon under warranty. Remember-virtually every part on your vehicle was made by the cheapest bidder.

I think @jeep noob was stating that upgrading to rubicon shocks won’t be free. Replacing leaky shocks will certainly be replaced under warranty. Might not be in stock. Another forum member had the same problem and it took like 4 months to get a factory replacement shock.
Yes, that’s exactly what I was saying. Most folks want at least a slight lift, I presumed OP might consider a cheap way to do it vs no cost replacement in kind under warranty from the dealership.

I disagree. I'd be shocked (no pun intended) if it's not covered under warranty. I expect better quality from Jeep. They better not even hassle you about it!

Update: confirmed shocks are indeed leaking. Service department says they are ordering them and it shouldn't be more than a few days. :fingerscrossed:

It was in the garage when it was -27 out. I didn't notice it until I went out a couple of days later when we took it on a small road trip (250 miles).

Hmm, I suspect it's blinker fluid. Do you have the Lighting Package? The LEDs use the more expensive synthetic blinker fluid.

Wrong--the shocks are covered for 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first.
O he was telling me this would be a great time to change out to a Rubicon shock/springs! But I'm not looking for any lift, so yes I'm just getting then replaced under warranty. And my service department was great to work with!
