I went back and forth with different ways to protect the undercarriage of my JL. Line-x was a strong option but after seeing videos of how moisture and salt can get in between the undercarriage and the black lining I crossed that off. It can actually do more harm than good. So I went with fluid film, it’s Lanolin based and waxy. I ordered six cans from amazon with the attachment that helps reach into the frame.
I rinsed the undercarriage thoroughly yesterday and gave it a day to dry. Luckily my neighbor has a lift. We put her on the lift and sprayed about 5 cans worth in the frame, in the wheel wells, springs and all pretty much covered everything in sight and out of sight also by attaching the hose and getting into all the nooks and crannies. Time will tell but I am very happy so far the application was simple and the film does run a little but it sticks and the undercarriage is shining.
On a side note, yes it stinks but who cares the car is protected. I mean we are in the garage not the perfume counter at Macy’s! Anyway, I will let you all know how it holds up. I’m just trying to protect the Jeep from the poop they spray on the roads.
