I have a 21 with the 8.4" UCONNECT system with GPS. Either I do not know how to enter an address or search for a location because my UCONNECT never finds the place i am looking for. I can put the same location or address in my phone and it pulls it up every time. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you using built in nav or Android Auto/Carplay? The latter is 100x better with Waze.
In saying that, the few times I've used the built in nav, it performed well.

Trying to use the built in NAV, i do agree with the Carplay option, i use waze as well. But just wondering why it never finds the location.

Not sure. Works fine here. I do know there were some units doing it but it was way off, like "in the middle of the ocean" way off. Plus it was 2018s I think.

Im floating on a lake in another state and the VOICE is accurate but the screen shows me not moving nor does it show the correct locations or streets.

Hello Snoopi,
I took my Jeep into the dealer and was told there was nothing wrong with mine, although they did an update to the software and it has performed as it should ever since. Again the dealer said they did not find anything wrong, but went ahead and updated it to make sure...... did not make sense to me, but it does now work.

Good Luck!

Yeah that sounds right; but UConn requires us to pay for updates periodically which isnt supposed to be part of the deal on keeping it running. Jeep dealer couldnt update mine - it wouldnt take it so that means $1400+ for a new one. Nope going to continue to use mine without a wkg gps as I have my cell. Everything else is wkg still. When that goes to crap as I read it does (Ram and Chrysler vehs have had this issue for many years I found out and radio; locks, pushbstart, camera, everything goes down or just plain nutz) I spoke to our squad guy at work who knows all too much about UConn being crap; and said go with the Wrangler Alpine as all wiring matches up. Very disappointed Alpine wasnt an option when I Built my Jeep! Thx

The built in NAV relies on the Aircard that's on the back of the UConnect Head Unit. They're known to go out. The fix is for the dealer to order a new head unit.

That seems like an expensive fix, I guess if you own a Jeep expect you to throw money at it.

thanks

Yup, it's a shame it's not considered a swappable part, especially since the clock and other functions rely on it. My Jeep thought it was in the middle of the Atlantic for over two months before a replacement came in...

On the same lines of replacing the entire axle because of a bad ball joint... that was another decision Jeep made on my first JL that had me shaking my head.
