But seriously though change sucks.
And now that I'm fully on the credit card rewards train why the hell would I want to use cash unless I absolutely have to.
I'm with you, but more and more restaurants, local to me, charge 4% or more if I use a credit card.

Only with Zelle or Venmo
I tell you what those kind of establishments are about the only place where you should be using cash.

And not all 20s either you need some fives and 10s because as I found out the hard way as a Young Man strippers do not give change anything extra is considered a tip.

Lazarus thread.

To answer the OP's now-dated inquiry, I use the small tray under the parking brake handle as a natural repository for a few coins. It seems custom-designed for that purpose.

The rumors of cash's death are premature. I still see it used as a primary, if not exclusive, form of payment where using a card might or would look silly: outlet-style stores, like Ollie's, Harbor Freight (when not purchasing tool storage and such), Dollar General and similar, any fast food establishment and most convenience stores, and even local grocery stores.

Granted, in that last example, Seniors are the constituency most likely to be using greenbacks.

The point is, I don't have to look far at all to see that plastic doesn't rule the roost.

If I'm in one of the several Mennonite-owned businesses that I frequent, cash is the only form of payment that I can recall seeing...and using myself. They do have payment terminals available for those customers that require them.

We use our cards for fuel and larg(er) grocery orders, and lucre for most everything else. Easy peasy.

Funny you mention Harbor Freight when I got that winch on sale back in Dec. for 40% off I made sure to use my 2% cash back credit card (FNBO Evergreen) to buy it...

40%? Was that an Inside Track discount? Just curious.
12 Days of Christmas special. On the 19th of December their winches went on sale 40% off for one day.

Picked up a 12,000 lb Apex (synthetic) for $385.19 after taxes.

Ah. I had unsubscribed from their daily email blasts for a time, for exactly that reason: they were filling my Inbox with multiple daily messages. I've since returned to the fold. Now, though, half of the messages are solicitations for their house credit card, which weren't being sent previously.

Anyway, that's a great price. If you lived closer, I'd offer beer money for your winch to pull three stubborn bushes out from the front yard.

Well the only reason I knew about it is because somebody posted about it here on the forums. I'm not a member there or anything like that I don't go to Harbor freight very often it's on the complete opposite side of the city from where I live so it's kind of inconvenient just to go there unless there's a good reason.

I still need a winch bumper I know what one I want I just got to wait for funds to buy it and get it painted.

I'm often occupied, by many things, often at the same time
I take some of it to the mall and drop it on the escalator, other times I'll put coins on the railroad tracks to flatten it, or glue coins down on the sidewalk around the neighborhood. Most of it I feed to sharks that sit under the Huntington Beach pier.

Two questions
If you wear hipster skinny jeans how will pockets help?
If I throw change on stage will I get kicked out of a strip club?
If you leave a stack of quarters on the stage at a BYOP full frontal place and tell her she can take 2 dollars off the top if she doesn't use her hands you get kicked out. I have some weird friends...
