I would contact Midland and have them replace it.
I've reached out to them and waiting to hear back. I wasn't able to get them on the phone. I would call and then the automated voice would say "goodbye" and hang up on me.

My suggestion is to rule out something someone has not mentioned yet. I would first use some canned air and blow out the Mic #7

If that does not work, try to bypass that Mic with #2 external Mic/spk and see if that ext mic works fine.

Sometimes with dust and dirty areas the small mic inlet can get clogged. I had this issue on a old cell phone, it would work fine for everything but recording video which it would pick up no sound. Once I found that it had a separate mic for video recording and I cleaned it out it worked fine.

If it's an intermittent problem that the OP can sometimes reproduce with his own handhelds, it's very unlikely that it's related to a radio setting - otherwise he would have to be repeatedly changing that setting to cause the "sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't" transmission reception problem.

It's most likely a physical problem with an electrical connection or an internal hardware problem on the radio unit itself.

@SadRobot what channel are you using to test on your handhelds? Do the handhelds receive a signal and just no voice?

I've been on channel 19 and 20. Handhelds get a signal, can hear static as if someone is there but just no voice.

I don't believe it's the channels as I've used those before throughout he past year and this problem just started.

UPDATE:

Midland responded via email today. They are sending me a replacement mic.Hopefully once I get that in all will be fixed.

Great customer service on their end. They needed proof of purchase and I told them my brother bought it for me and they said no problem and just needed his amazon order #.
