So these updates are from a few weeks ago, I’m very behind.

So we went wheeling for the first time. It was amazing, we both really loved it. But we also broke something, so I think that officially makes us a part of the club now lol.

Towards the end of the trail I heard some tinkling sound, like a bolt and washer jingling around type sound. Few minutes later I heard the same tinkling sound with a light thump. My wife also heard it and we looked at each other. But the Jeep was riding perfectly so we just kept going lol. I was praying I just ran over something but deep down I knew something broke.

When we stopped to air up I got a good look. Luckily it wasn’t a huge deal. The bolt that connects the sway bar end links to the sway bar broke off. Since it was our first time, and we are still gathering all the tools, I just left the sway bar connected the whole time. Guess we put too much stress and it finally gave out at the end. Talk to everyone there and they said I’d be fine for the 2 hour drive home. The other side was still intact so no worries. Driving was a little wobbly but not too bad.

The next day the real fun began searching for a replacement. I settled on Apex Autolynx. The my arrived on Friday afternoon, a day before we had to get up at 6am for another 2 hour drive to go wheeling again. Even if we weren’t going wheeling I would still have been anxious to get them installed but either way we needed to hurry. Since we still don’t have a lot of tools and my driveway is inclined, we decided to do the install at a Home Depot parking lot. Just in case I needed anything. Install was very simple and straight forward. Took maybe 30-45 minutes.

Next day we got to test them and they were AMAZING. Definitely recommend. I know some people have rubbing issues but mine are perfect. We love them.

I have no pictures of them when they were shiny and new, just when I was installing them. They were completely dirty like 8 hours later lol.

First oil change done at 31k miles. Replaced it at 6k miles instead of 5k because it's been so cold. Took two days because I didn't have a size 23 socket to remove the oil filter housing. Overnighted one from Amazon and now we're good. While I was down there, I put in a Fumoto. Can't wait to use it for the first time in 5000 miles.

This is useless as tits on a boar now, but a 15/16ths works too…..🫤

Have you installed the RC rear LCA skids yet? If so, how did the install go and how are they holding up?
I tried but I couldn’t get the LCA bolts off. I just had a shop do it.

Since installing I’ve only been wheeling once. Didn’t use them but still glad they’re there. They seem strong.

I have not updated this in a while and a lot has happened since then.

Late last year we installed the Wolfbox g900 dashcam. See our install and review here, https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/wolfbox-g900-pro-review.143643/

We installed a tailgate table from Amazon. It's actually very sturdy, only used it once so far to make a sandwich but it was great. https://amzn.to/3YTGZU6

Then we got some ROAM rocksliders from Facebook marketplace. Seems the company went out of business, but I was able to find a really good writeup for the install. Lots of sanding and painting before installing but they look great and seem very strong and ready to take a beating. Been wheeling a few times now with them, but still yet to scratch them.

We were also able to get a rooftop tent that was only used 3 times for $199 from my local Jeep club. Super excited about that and how to use it in the next few weeks. No pictures yet but will when I get a roof rack.

Then we were able to find a soft top for only $90, yes you read that right, NINETY dollars. It was only used a few times and is the premium twill. Ok, it got caught on the guy's garage door and broke some parts, but even if we spend $700 on parts, it's still less than half of a new one. No pictures yet but will put some up when we put it on.

When I was airing up a few weeks ago I dropped and broke my air compressor. Whelp, might as well get onboard air then...Went with the Grimm bracket that goes behind the front driver wheel well. Being in a 2 door, interior space is a premium, so I needed to find another solution besides under seat or trunk. I also decided to take a punt on a Chinese knock off of ARB twin for $230 and 4 tire inflation system for $100. The Chinese knock off works amazing, with airing down from 32psi to 15 in 3 minutes and back up to 35psi in 6 minutes 22 seconds.

It's funny to go back to our first post about phase 1, 2 etc. and what we had planned, and seeing what's actually been done to the Jeep. Soooo many things you don't plan and of course you get excited and buy more than planned.

Oil change completed on Saturday August 23 at 35,100 miles. Penzoil Platinum Plus 0-30w, Mopar oil filter. First time using Fumoto after last oil change install made the whole thing take less than 15 minutes.
