Big 10 canceled football till spring??? School maybe waiting till next quarter to start??? What if the numbers are the same then?? What the heck is going on! Are we waiting till zero cases to start living life? Isn't there a point were quality of life out weighs the risk? The numbers are not that staggering. Its dangerous to travel in a vehicle but we still do it. Its dangerous to ride motorcycles but we still do it. Its dangerous to drink and smoke but some still do it. Its dangerous to go to work (2 million per year die from work accidents)but we still do it. It took 25 years to develop a chicken pox vaccine, small pox was around for 200 years till wiped out. I'm not waiting that long for normality. Life is all about taking risks, not about curling up in the corner hiding from anything that can harm you. Lets get going dammit.....

The US has less than 5,000 occupational fatalities a year. Just wanted to clear that up. Source: a certified occupational safety and health professional.

You’re entitled to whatever opinions you want to have regarding you and your family’s safety, but facts are non-negotiable. Or at least they used to be...

Your willingness to accept a given risk will, or should, be limited by how that risk you’re willing to accept potentially affects others negatively. I’m an awesome driver and have fantastic cars. But I can’t drive through traffic at ridiculous speeds without endangering others. I don’t have that right to endanger your life because I think I’m Ayrton Senna. If I rent out a track I can do what I like because I’m the only one in danger. As long as we are a part of a society we have to make compromises for others.

My wife is a regional director. Right now her daily concern is having enough healthy employees to cover the work. Why? Because her employees and their family members want to get busy living at bars, beaches, etc. The problem is that when they do they get ill and infect or potentially infect their family members. Now her employees must stay at home for a couple of weeks. Puts strain on the other employees to cover their shifts. How’s that fair to them? Oh, then consider that the affected employee came to work for 4 days last week while asymptotic and potentially infected every coworker and client they contacted. Who’s going to call those clients and inform them that they may have come into contact with a deadly communicable disease? Not Typhoid Mary. My wife has to do it while they chill at home for 14 days.

No matter what your viewpoint or opinion, it’s extremely complicated and not as simple as the folks at either extreme end of the spectrum of opinions make it out to be.

2 million work deaths are world wide, actually its 2.78 million, just wanted to clear that up. As for the non-negotiable facts.....my very close friends uncle died from a car accident but the death certificate had covid as a cause, Fact. My folks neighbor fell 22 feet died from head injuries but death certificate had covid as a cause, Fact. THE COVID DEATH NUMBERS ARE PROVEN TO BE MOCKED UP AND ARE NOT FACTS!

You can dispute the figures directly attributed to Covid-19, we have similar discrepancies in the U.K.

It’s much harder to dispute excess death figures though, unless of cause you think something else has caused these deaths this year....

That clears things up. 2+ million worker deaths annually worldwide is accurate.

I won’t speculate on the veracity of apocryphal stories of misdiagnosed causes of death. I know nothing about it, I got nothing.

Good luck with “getting back to living” during this pandemic. I think everyone can agree that we all want to be able to do things we used to and get back to normal, whatever that is. Stay safe.

It will all be over November 4th.

Truest Post Of The Day...

While the ChinaFlu will still be with us...Just like every other flu, the hysteria will rapidly start to diminish November 4th. Anyone that is honest and has at least a few functioning brain cells has to admit that while serious, the ChinaFlu is being way overhyped and used as a political weapon to try and gain an advantage in the upcoming elections....

The fear mongering has already had a negative impact, especially on young children-I was out on a bike ride in my own neighborhood and witnessed a young mother trying to get her two kids in the car and they were crying and yelling 'I don't want to go, I don't want to get 'rona' and die'. This is what the media mob has done...

I dunno where in Iowa you are, but I live 30 miles from Iowa City. One of my volunteers is a nurse at the U, one teaches in the med college. Another works in a nursing home in Muscatine. I think all of them would like to see the sources that prove that statement....they work with the people who are dying. Pretty sure our governor, who is hardly a snowflake liberal, isnt participating in any fakihg of numbers. Responses to thd disease may be politicized, but the disease is real, regardless of who likes it.

That really what you want to say to the people here who dont think it's being faked or pumped? That we're either dishonest or stupid? Seriously?

Too Stupid to survive! that will be the mantra!!! When the head of the centers for disease is telling you to wear a mask and socially distance, why when given the facts are people in such denial? Hospital first responders are living in a fkng hell of deaths and yet people only care about not being able to go to the bar or socialize with their friends. I don't have a medical degree or a degree in infectious diseases, but when someone who has spent his/her life studying these scenarios I bow down and listen!!!!!! The rest of you ....as I said are too stupid to survive.

Slow it down a bit there big fella... I did not say it was faked, but it sure as hell is being pumped up for political gain. Try reading my entire post and not just the two sentences you cherrypicked to repost...However, I stand by my entire original post including the section you reposted.

Let's be clear...I dont agree that it's being pumped up for political gain. According to you, that makes me either dishonest or stupid, right? As well as everyone else who disagrees with your position?
