Understood. I really just don’t want to F&$k with that “golf cart” battery replacement every 2-3 years. I’d like to keep all factory options even the ESS function which I also think is dumb as shit for an extra mpg. ThanksI don’t have Genesis installed, but I’ve thought about it a lot and read a lot of the threads on it. So take this all with a grain of salt.
The product page has the install video. I never watched the Gen3 install, but I did watch the Gen2. The difference between those I believe is the controller at top. Gen2 involves removing the aux battery.
As far as aux delete or Genesis, that really depends on your wants and goals are. General advice is Genesis is a great option if you have power hungry devices like a refrigerator
in your Jeep and it’s overkill if you don’t.
If your main goal is to remove the golf cart battery while keeping ESS as an option, Genesis would work albeit expensive.
Same here.ive done it on the 3.6L took a couple of hours to do it but its been great since installing a year ago. just take your time with it. My ESS is fully functional still thus it doesnt kick in unless in neutral and off the clutch. ( manual transmission ). it fully deletes the small aux battery. the only down fall is the oil dip stick is a bit of a pain to check the oil. its tucked against the battery tray. still worth it
FYI, from what your desires are it sounds like you don't actually need their full kit. They make a kit that just replaces the factory golf cart battery with the second group 25 battery so you keep the same exact factory setup but have 2 of the same batteries rather than the disparate sized ones; and both are in the tray so it's simple for maintenance.Understood.
